Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, due to the Mordern Area many individuals like to shop branded clothes which are not even useful and necessary it is because of social media and their role models brands. In my upcoming paragraphs I would like to discuss the thick and thins for this matter.

The Farmost reason on this issue is the branding and advertisement on the clothes which is the biggest challenging factor. For instance, many celebrities are launching their own brands and are advertising their products on the bigger scale by which people are getting attracted towards their role models brands and end up buying the expensive and unnecssary clothes just to show off in public.

In my opinion, if the actors will stop putting their labels it can reduce the number of clothes people buy, Because this is creating a pressure umong the lower class individuals that they have to look good infront of everyone as in socials media these are in trend and if they buy high-end brands it can help to grow their respect and confidence and can attract everyone which is unneccesary and unuseful. To examplify, if the governments also take a closeup step and look into this matters it can make a big change among others. As, by keeping the proper guidance on clothes it can help in this problem.

To conclude, by spreading proper awareness can help people by not buying irrelevent clothes just because of their looks and names. Also, famous actors should be carefully looking into this matter.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify a relevant cause—celebrity branding and advertising—and explain that people may buy expensive clothes to imitate role models or gain social approval. This gives the response a clear central idea. However, the task is only partly addressed: the reasons are narrow, and the proposed solutions are not explained sufficiently. Suggestions such as actors stopping their labels and governments providing “proper guidance” are mentioned, but it is unclear what practical action either group should take or how it would change buying habits. The conclusion repeats the call for awareness without adding support. Develop both parts with specific, realistic measures, such as promoting clothing reuse or limiting targeted advertising, and explain their likely effects.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph about a cause, one about possible action, and a conclusion. The reader can generally follow the main topic, and phrases such as “For instance” and “To conclude” signal examples and closure. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear. The third paragraph combines actors, pressure on lower-income people, social media, confidence, government action, and guidance without showing how these points connect. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, including “As” at the start of a sentence and repeated references to “this matter.” Organise each body paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it in a clear sequence, using references that make the links between ideas explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “branding,” “advertisement,” “celebrities,” and “high-end brands,” so the subject is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts difficult to interpret. Expressions such as “thick and thins,” “Farmost reason,” “bigger scale,” and “closeup step” do not convey the intended meaning clearly. There are also spelling errors, for example “Mordern,” “unnecssary,” and “irrelevent,” alongside repeated general words such as “clothes,” “people,” and “help.” Build a more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; for example, describe “social pressure to follow fashion trends” rather than relying on unclear phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, such as the sentence beginning “In my opinion, if the actors will stop putting their labels…”. However, these attempts are often faulty, and sentence boundaries and punctuation are inconsistent. The opening sentence joins several ideas without clear structure, while “Because this is creating a pressure…” is an incomplete sentence after the preceding clause. Verb forms are also problematic: “if the actors will stop” should use a present form after “if” for a future possibility. Other issues include missing articles and awkward agreement or sentence construction, as in “the governments also take a closeup step.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add one controlled subordinate clause at a time.
