Student answer (Band 5.5)
It have been noticing from last decade that people in some regions are purchasing clothes in large quantities. Although they are keep buying, they have sufficient clothes to wear in their daily life. There are numerous reasons behind this statement and it can be solved by following appropriate methods.
The main reason of investing money on clothes is to show wealth in front of society. This is the one way, how wealthy people show their pockets filled with money to the world. They feel proud of them by doing this. However, it lead to wastage of money in the last. A large portion of human beings are influenced through social media. For instance, well known people advertised new brands and such materials via online medium , community get influenced and start buying products. This is considered as a great benefit for just only influencers but not for people buying products. The last reason is that, individuals always like to wear new clothes on different occasions. So, they started purchasing on discount where they have to spend more, more clothes they get but quality do not better.
In order to overcome the problem of buying clothes more and more, people should create their monthly budget pack in which they have to spend less on clothes. Other way is by focusing more on quality rather than discount and number of clothes. One main solution, avoid getting influence from social media platforms as products they sell are not worth.
In conclusion, buying too many clothes is considerably waste of money and time. People should save money for their other expenses . This is not the correct way to show wealth to other people. However, humans can help each other or needy people instead of becoming materialistic.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify reasons such as showing wealth, influence from social media, and buying new outfits for occasions, then suggest budgeting, prioritising quality, and resisting online influence. These are relevant responses and your conclusion reinforces the idea that excessive buying wastes resources. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the link between discounts and buying more is mentioned, but the reason people are persuaded by discounts could be made clearer. The solutions also need fuller development: explain how budgeting or public campaigns might change behaviour, and give a specific example. More explanation of the causes and practical detail in the solutions would make the response more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow, and signposts such as “The main reason” and “In order to overcome the problem” help identify the purpose of each section. However, some connections between ideas are abrupt or unclear. The shift from social-media influence to buying clothes for occasions, for instance, would benefit from a clearer transition. Phrases such as “The last reason” and “Other way” are also somewhat mechanical, while “This” in “This is considered as a great benefit” does not clearly identify its reference. Use more precise linking and referencing, and organise each paragraph around a clearer progression of explanation and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “social media,” “brands,” “discount,” “quality,” “budget,” and “materialistic.” These choices allow you to discuss both consumer behaviour and possible solutions. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “show wealth” and “influenced,” but several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “show their pockets filled with money,” “monthly budget pack,” and “community get influenced” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Some repetition of “clothes,” “buying,” and “people” also makes the vocabulary less flexible. Aim to learn common collocations for spending and consumer habits, and choose precise phrases such as “display their wealth” or “set a monthly clothing budget.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession with “Although” and a relative clause in “products they sell.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “It have been noticing” has an incorrect subject and verb pattern, “they are keep buying” combines verb forms incorrectly, and “it lead to wastage” lacks subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “One main solution, avoid…” is also not a complete grammatical sentence. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the main ideas remain understandable. Practise accurate present-tense patterns and complete clauses, then check agreement and articles when editing.
