Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify reasons for buying many clothes, including boredom with existing clothes, status-seeking, and pressure to maintain an attractive public image, then suggest awareness campaigns, parental guidance, and celebrities rewearing outfits. These ideas are relevant and your overall response is clear. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that people buy clothes to “enhance personality” overlaps with the discussion of public image, and the environmental campaign proposal would be stronger if you explained what information or practical advice it should provide. Develop each main reason with a brief explanation or example, and show more clearly how each proposed measure could change buying habits.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the answer, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help identify shifts. At times, though, linking is mechanical or the relationship between ideas is unclear. The causes paragraph moves quickly from boredom to status and then to women’s public image without clearly separating or connecting these points. Some references, such as “these steps,” are broad rather than specific. Use clearer topic sentences and group related ideas, then connect each solution directly to the cause it addresses.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “branded clothes,” “social awareness,” “demerits,” and “atmosphere,” and you communicate the general subject throughout. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, word forms, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “popular trend,” “bore,” “depose,” and “inffulancers”; phrases such as “too much uses of clothes” and “show their beauty” are also imprecise in context. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Reusing a smaller set of well-controlled expressions—such as “consumer pressure,” “fashion trends,” and “reduce clothing consumption”—would make your points clearer and more appropriate for this task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “though.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some errors in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “buying clothes is becomes” combines incompatible verb forms, while “they should aware” is missing a verb form and “the above mentioned solutions could be turn” has an incorrect passive construction. Several sentences also run together, particularly in the causes paragraph. Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then check subject–verb agreement, verb patterns, and sentence boundaries before adding complex clauses.
