Student answer (Band 5.0)

people are very conscious on new trends, fashion, design and brands.one of the main reason of buying too much clothes is social media. people see on social media and make himself or herself like that . people influence with social media and following influencers to follow trends. They only see what they dress, wear and follow trends. Moreover people buy more expensive clothes. people need to only buy those clothes who suits you not buying expensive clothes is buying fashion sense.people are blind to trust on their following.living in simplicity more likely than buying expensive cloth.people overcome this instead of buying clothes on brands , in addition buy on local area.it is affordable and save money ,we use this money in better way . people need to visit local area which is cheap and better than branded expensive clothes. in the era of social media , people became more extravagance and avoid unnecessary thing.people need to spending those things which give you more benefit like buying some property.one the other side if people not dressing well, society behave like poor and feeling degrade. if following trend, brand end that follow equality, not to judge on behalf of clothes.i would also saying that influencer , influence because that's his job . because this social media era more like that marketing is doing on social media.people need to use your mind and wakeup and smell the coffee.most important point is that not satisfy other just satisfy yourself and peace your inner soul.Thats from my side in my opinion is that i hope you understand amd considerate it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify a relevant cause—social media and influencers encouraging people to follow trends—and offer possible responses, such as buying locally, choosing affordable clothes and judging people less by their appearance. These points address both questions, but the explanation is only partly developed. For example, you mention that people are influenced by what they see online, but do not explain how advertising, frequent trend changes or pressure to fit in leads to repeated purchases. The solutions also need clearer links to reducing clothing consumption: buying locally may lower cost, but it does not necessarily mean buying fewer items. The position becomes difficult to follow in the final sentences, so develop a smaller number of ideas with specific examples and explain how each solution would work.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a recognisable movement from reasons to possible solutions, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “in addition” and “on the other side” show an attempt to connect points. However, the response is presented as one long block, with no clear paragraphing to separate the two parts of the question. Ideas also shift abruptly: the discussion moves from local shops to property, then to social judgement and influencers, without a clear progression. Some connections are hard to interpret, particularly “if following trend, brand end that follow equality.” Use separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, organise each around one main point, and make references explicit. A simple sequence of topic sentence, explanation and example would make the argument much easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “trends,” “influencers,” “branded,” “affordable” and “social media,” and attempt more expressive language with “wake up and smell the coffee.” This gives you some range for discussing fashion and consumer choices. However, several word combinations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “buying too much clothes,” “people became more extravagance” and “peace your inner soul.” Repetition of “people,” “buy” and “clothes” also limits flexibility, while some phrases make the intended meaning difficult to understand. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural combinations and choose precise terms for the point you mean—for example, distinguish between buying cheaper clothes and reducing the number of purchases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “because” and “instead of,” but most sentence patterns are simple or become difficult to control when extended. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in phrases such as “one of the main reason,” “people influence with social media” and “people need to spending.” Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, and the response often runs several ideas together without full stops. These problems sometimes make the intended relationships unclear. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause. Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms after “need to,” and punctuation when editing.
