Student answer (Band 4.5)
well, in this modern era people buy bunch of clothes on the same time because they have lot of options of clothes. there are so many reasons behind this statment.
I would start with first reason now a days people have lot of options they are buy onlime and went to malls to buy clothes. they see many attractive clothes and cannnot stop them to buy the clothes. some people have hobby to buy clothes. that is big reason to buy clothes.
moreover, people are going one country to another. they are following tradition of another country . They like to wear comfartable clothes that they can do work properly and feel relaxed. for example in past time indian people have only option to wear punjabi clothes all the time but these days they start to wear the tshirts and other formal clothes.
in nut shell, there are plenty of reasons why people buy lot of clothes i would say first and main reason is having alot of options due to ot they are collecting lot of pairs of clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify a relevant reason for overbuying—having many choices—and mention online shopping, malls, attractive clothes and shopping as a hobby. The example about Indian clothing also relates to changing clothing preferences. However, the task asks both why people buy too many clothes and how they can be persuaded to buy fewer. Your response gives no measures for reducing purchases, so a major part of the task is unanswered. The reasons are also mostly listed rather than explained, and the conclusion repeats the point about having many options. The response is 70 words below the required minimum, which further limits the opportunity to develop relevant ideas. Address both questions directly and support each point with explanation or an example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
Your response has separate paragraphs and uses basic signposting such as “moreover” and “in nut shell,” so the reader can recognise a beginning, a body and a conclusion. The ideas within the first body paragraph also relate to shopping choices. However, progression is limited: the conclusion largely repeats the opening reason, and the paragraph about people travelling between countries shifts to cultural clothing preferences without clearly connecting this to buying too many clothes. The linking phrases are also mechanical, and there is no paragraph devoted to the task’s second question. Organise the response around the two prompts, use each paragraph to develop one main point, and make the links between examples and claims explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the general topic, including “options,” “attractive clothes,” “hobby,” “tradition” and “comfortable clothes.” There are also attempts to express ideas beyond a very narrow set of repeated words. However, “clothes” and “buy” recur frequently, and several choices or spellings reduce clarity, such as “bunch of clothes,” “onlime,” “comfartable” and “collecting lot of pairs.” Some phrases are imprecise for the intended meaning; for example, “people are going one country to another” does not clearly explain how travel leads to excessive purchases. Build a more precise range for discussing consumer behaviour, such as “impulse purchases,” “fashion trends” and “reduce consumption,” and check spelling and natural word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “for example” that contrasts clothing choices in the past and present. This shows some effort to connect ideas rather than relying only on short statements. However, control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles or sentence construction. For instance, “they are buy” and “they are following tradition” do not use verb forms accurately, while “people have lot of options” is missing an article. Several sentences run ideas together, as in “they see many attractive clothes and cannnot stop them to buy the clothes.” Practise accurate present-tense patterns and sentence boundaries, then use a few controlled complex sentences to explain causes and solutions.
