Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question and present a clear overall position: buying clothes for different occasions and maintaining social status are reasons, while taxation and influencer campaigns are proposed solutions. The examples of wedding, work and holiday clothing help illustrate the first reason. However, some points are not fully explained. For example, the link between clothing and “a status in society” could be developed by explaining how social pressure encourages repeated purchases. The tax proposal also needs more detail: clarify which clothes would be taxed and why this would reduce overconsumption rather than simply affect affordability. The influencer idea is relevant, but its likely impact would be stronger with a specific explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear four-paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to reasons, solutions and a conclusion. The main ideas are generally presented in a sensible order, and signposts such as “One main reason,” “Secondly” and “However” help readers follow the discussion. At times, though, cohesion feels mechanical or the links between ideas are unclear. For instance, “Not only because they feel comfortable…” does not connect grammatically or logically to the preceding example, and the relationship between the influencer’s clothing choices and changing public habits could be explained more explicitly. Some references, such as “these” in “these could be the reasons,” are vague. Use clearer links and ensure each sentence develops the point before moving on.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “occasions,” “maintain a status,” “impose higher tax” and “social media influencers,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. However, the range and control of word choice are limited, and repeated use of “cloths” and “purchase” makes the response less precise. Several spelling errors, including “mainting,” “Occsions,” “Governement” and “inpose,” also reduce accuracy. Some combinations are unnatural, such as “a clothes way more than basic necessity” and “spend a medium wage on clothes.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and distinguish “clothes” from “cloth.” More precise vocabulary would help express the causes and proposed measures clearly without relying on repeated general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if that celebrity wear normal cloth that can change the habit of people.” This shows an effort to explain cause and effect, but several grammatical errors make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “people purchase a clothes way more than basic necessity” has problems with articles and number, while “Occasions like wedding has” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “However, This could be solve,” the verb form is incorrect, and “a social media influencers can” has an article and agreement problem. Work on articles, singular and plural forms, and verb agreement, and check that complex sentences have a clear grammatical structure.
