In numerous parts of the world, impulsive buying of garments is rising significantly especially among younger population, which has serious implication on the environment. This essay will discuss various reasons behind it and the necessaty steps to avoid this problem for sustainable environment.
One of the major reason for this attitude is social media advertisement. Advertising campaigns lure many young individuals by making clothes affordable and fashionable. As a result, considerable amount of younger adults in the working sector can afford buying cheap clothes and thus end up buying too many garments. In addition, buying fashionable clothes has become a status of symbol for many younger individuals. They think that buying unnecessary amount of clothes shows that they are significant members of society. For instance, there has been a significant rise in buying too many garments among youth which has increased their financial burden for future stability.
There are various ways in which state authorities can control the impulsive buying attitude of youth. Several policies such as environmental awareness campaigns, community programmes emphasizing on the ecofriendly and suatainable ways to protect the environment can be executed at all the levels to create awareness among youths regarding the deletrious impact of huge amount of waste generated through this garments. In addition, family and other core members can be an important catalysts in promoting and enhancing the financial security of an individual to curb this problem by teaching them to allocate their funds for the future benefits.
All in all, many younger adults are buying too many clothes due to the various affordable options and social medial campaigns. However, this attitude could be changed with the regulations and policies implemented by stakeholders as well as allocating funds on future stabilty.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions: it identifies social-media advertising, affordability and clothing as a status symbol as reasons, then proposes awareness campaigns, community programmes and family guidance. These are relevant ideas, and the essay maintains a clear focus on reducing excessive clothing purchases. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the example about young people’s financial burden does not show how advertising or status-seeking leads to that outcome, and the proposed campaigns are not illustrated with a specific way they might change buying habits. The final reference to regulations is also not developed in the body. More explicit cause-and-effect explanation and a concrete example for each main proposal would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay is organised into a clear introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. Its progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “One of the major reason,” “In addition” and “All in all” help readers recognise the stages of the argument. The two main body paragraphs also keep to their respective purposes. To strengthen cohesion further, make links between claims and their explanations more explicit: the example about financial burden, for instance, is not clearly connected to the preceding point about status. The conclusion introduces “regulations and policies” without explaining these in the solutions paragraph. More precise referencing and closer links between each claim, explanation and example would make the progression feel more fully integrated.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
There is an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “impulsive buying,” “advertising campaigns,” “financial burden,” “environmental awareness” and “sustainable.” These choices allow the writer to discuss both consumer behaviour and environmental consequences. The response also attempts less common expressions, but some are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “status of symbol,” “deletrious impact” and “huge amount of waste generated through this garments.” Spelling slips in “necessaty,” “suatainable,” “social medial” and “stabilty” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, “a symbol of status” and “the harmful effects of textile waste” would express the intended ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses such as “which has serious implication on the environment” and “by making clothes affordable and fashionable.” Meaning is generally clear, and the longer sentences show an attempt to express relationships between causes and effects. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement, articles and plurals: “One of the major reason” should be “One of the major reasons,” and “a considerable amount of younger adults” needs a more suitable construction. In “family and other core members can be an important catalysts,” the subject and complement do not agree. Review these patterns and use punctuation to separate long ideas; this would improve accuracy while preserving the range of structures already attempted.
