Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify two relevant reasons—fast fashion and online or seasonal sales—and suggest controls on discounting and production, so the response addresses both questions at a basic level. However, the explanations are brief: for example, you say trends change every day and clothes are cheaper, but do not explain how this encourages repeated purchases or give a specific example. The proposed measures also need clearer detail about how they would persuade consumers to buy less. Your conclusion shifts to saying buying more is a personal choice and is “completely fine,” which weakens your position on reducing overconsumption. The response is also below the required 250 words. Develop each reason and solution, and make your final view consistent with the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, one on possible actions, and a conclusion. Basic links such as “Apart from this” and “to sum it all” help signal movement between points. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are compressed into long, unclear sentences. The transition from government controls to the conclusion that buying more is “completely fine” also makes the overall argument difficult to follow. Some linking is repetitive or imprecise, and the final sentence is cut off, leaving the conclusion incomplete. Use one clear main idea per paragraph, explain how each point connects to the question, and finish with a complete, consistent summary.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “fast fashion,” “fashion brand,” “production,” and “government bodies,” which makes the subject clear. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “allocated production” and “reduced price.” However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts difficult to understand, including “contibute,” “purchsing,” “involement,” and “green earth moment.” Phrases such as “major factor that incre the sale” are not expressed accurately. Aim to use familiar vocabulary precisely before adding less common expressions, and check spelling and natural word combinations. More precise terms for consumer behaviour and policy would help explain your ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Apart from this” and a clause explaining that new trends encourage purchases. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “some citizen … have been buying” has a number-agreement problem, while “the most common reason that have contributed” does not maintain agreement between the subject and verb. The opening also joins several ideas with full stops and commas in ways that make sentence boundaries unclear. The final sentence is incomplete. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences, then use punctuation to separate each idea clearly.
