Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is undeniable that fashionable clothes play vital role in the human life. It is argued that, in some areas of world, individuals do over shopping of clothes. From my perspective, fashionable era and social media are main reasons of this trend. I think idea of effective use of money can assist people to reduce the number of attires they buy.

Firstly, due to fashionable era, many people spend large amount of money for buying expensive dresses. In addition to that, social media influence viwers with new market trend. Followers usually buy dresses with new patterns and looks. In fact they post their photos and videos on social media for getting more views on it. Apart from this, many rich people wear one time expensive clothes and they do not like to wear same dresses again. Consequently they buy more clothes. To quote an instance, Shilpa Shetty a Bollywood actor, wore various attires on her last reality TV show and she spent thousands on her dresses.

To overcome the issue in the trend, usage of money in the proper manner is a key factor. To elaborate, if individuals buy good quality less clothes and spend other money into their healthy diet, it can help them to stay fit and well. Moreover, instead of doing more shopping they can donate money to the under poverty area. Which will give the doners internal happiness. To give an example, instead of spending a lot on clothes, many merchant families in India started fix deposite saving account for their future and betterment of their offsprings.

To conclude, this essay has discussed fashionable social media trend is a prominant reason that people buy more dresses. However, an effective way to utilize ones' income can help to decrease the issue of concern.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question and give a clear overall position: fashion and social media encourage excessive buying, while better use of money could help reduce it. The examples about social-media posts and a Bollywood actor make the causes more concrete. However, the proposed solutions are less fully explained. Buying fewer, better-quality clothes is relevant, but the links to spending on diet or donating money do not clearly explain how people would be persuaded to change their clothing habits. The example of merchant families saving for the future is also only loosely connected to the question. Develop practical measures—such as promoting clothing reuse or making consumers more aware of the environmental cost—and explain how these would influence behaviour.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main stages, and the ideas generally progress logically within the causes paragraph. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, several links are mechanical, and some references are unclear: “Which will give the doners internal happiness” is a sentence fragment, while “the issue in the trend” does not clearly identify the problem. Make connections between claims more explicit and use pronouns only when their reference is unmistakable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “fashionable,” “patterns,” “attires,” and “donate,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “internal happiness” and “betterment of their offsprings,” though these are not always natural or precise. Several word choices and collocations are noticeably inaccurate, including “do over shopping,” “fashionable era,” and “under poverty area.” Spelling errors such as “viwers,” “prominant,” and “fix deposite” also reduce accuracy. Aim for straightforward, natural phrasing and check spelling; precise expressions will make your argument clearer without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if individuals buy good quality less clothes … it can help them.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas less clear. Examples include the missing article in “play vital role,” the awkward construction “spend large amount of money for buying,” and the fragment “Which will give the doners internal happiness.” There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries. Practise checking articles, singular and plural forms, and whether each sentence has a complete main clause. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the complex sentences you are already attempting.
