Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the task: social media pressure, online advertising and workplace dress expectations are offered as reasons, while buying according to need and choosing durable clothing are proposed as solutions. These ideas are relevant and your overall position—that excessive clothing purchases are undesirable—is clear. The social-media explanation is the most developed, with a specific account of people wanting new outfits for photos. By contrast, the workplace point is only briefly stated, and the solutions would be stronger if you explained how people could be persuaded—for example, through public campaigns, incentives to repair or reuse clothes, or clearer information about environmental impacts. Develop each point with a little more explanation or an example to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. The sequence of ideas is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “Firstly” and “In conclusion” help show the direction of the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and the long sentence beginning “For instance” combines several points that would be clearer if separated. References such as “this issue” and “this problem” are understandable but sometimes broad, so name the specific issue or cause when moving between ideas. The conclusion repeats the general point rather than drawing together the main causes and solutions. More controlled paragraph development and clearer links between examples and claims would improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “social media,” “globalization,” “formal dress,” “good quality” and “discount,” so the main ideas can be understood. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “critical concern” and “contributed in the emergence,” but these combinations are not natural in context. Noticeable spelling and word-choice errors—such as “beacuse,” “colthes,” “adds” for advertisements, and “comfert”—reduce accuracy and sometimes make the reader pause. Several expressions are also repeated, particularly “buy clothes” and “people need.” Build a more reliable range of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; for example, use “excessive clothing consumption,” “targeted advertisements” and “durable garments” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and a conditional structure in “if people know their requirement… we can reduce this problem.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include the subject–verb agreement in “Clothes is,” the tense and form in “people loved to wear,” and the sentence pattern “The major reason why is people buy.” Articles, plurals and prepositions also need attention, as in “in the social media” and “use them long time.” Some sentences run together, particularly the extended explanation of social media, making grammatical relationships less clear. Practise accurate clause construction and vary sentence length while checking agreement and verb forms.
