Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the world of fashion, clothes play a crucial role in supporting people by their career mobility, accessebility and well-being. Nowadays, in some parts of the world, people buy a lot of clothes.Either,it is due to their fashion sense in clothing or interest in purchasing latest clothes. However, this trend can be reduced through reusing old clothes or converting them into new designs. In this essay, I will state the main causes of this issue and solutions to overcome this matter in a proper manner.
The first and foremost fact is that in some parts of the world, people are interested to purchase clothes for their needs. It's because in some places like canada, people buy clothes for getting rid from extreme temperatures during winter. Thus, they prefer winter clothes such as jackets for maintaining their body temperature to a constant manner. For example,my uncle Ram, working as a Registered nurse in UK, he spend money for purchasing clothes in winter for not getting affected with hypothermia.Secondly, people have immense interest in trying clothes having moisture wicking capacity, embroydery and various designs. Thus they purchase them with a fashion sense.
On the other hand, people can reduce the behaviour of buying clothes for various reasons.Likewise they can reuse their old clothes or converting old clothes to new designs. This will help to reduce the money spend for buying and it improve the cognitive and recreation skills of people infront of others. As a result, they can start a venture with these ideas.
In conclusion,in some parts of the world people buy lot of clothes for their desire. In my opinion, I strongly state that due to the extreme weather conditions in some countries like canada, many people forced to buy clothes for not getting affected from hypothermia . but on the other hand buying clothescan bereduced by reusing clthes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: you identify fashion interest and the need for clothing in cold weather as reasons, and suggest reusing or redesigning garments. However, the response only partially develops these points. The winter-clothing example about your uncle in the UK illustrates a need for suitable clothing, but it does not clearly explain why people buy far too many clothes. The fashion point is also asserted rather than explained, and the proposed reuse solution is not developed into a clear way to persuade people. Your position is present, but the conclusion mainly repeats the weather explanation and gives little summary of the solutions. Develop the causes and persuasion methods more directly, with specific supporting examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the essay. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from clothing for cold weather to fashion without a developed link, and the solution paragraph shifts from reusing clothes to starting a venture. Some linking phrases are mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately, while the conclusion repeats earlier material rather than bringing the main points together. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the question.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “moisture wicking capacity,” “extreme temperatures,” “fashion sense” and “cognitive and recreation skills.” These choices show an effort to express specific ideas, but several are inaccurate, awkward or unclear, which limits precision. For example, “career mobility, accessebility and well-being” is not clearly connected to the argument, and “clothes having moisture wicking capacity” does not explain why people buy too many garments. Spelling errors such as “embroydery” and “clthes,” along with forms such as “bereduced,” are noticeable. Choose simpler, accurate expressions where needed, and check spelling and collocations so the reader can follow your meaning easily.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and some attempts at longer structures, including “This will help to reduce…” and the example beginning “For example…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “people are interested to purchase” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “my uncle Ram… he spend money” has problems with sentence construction and subject–verb agreement. Other examples include “the money spend” and “many people forced to buy,” where verb forms or required grammatical elements are missing. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, particularly around sentence boundaries. Practise accurate clause construction and verb patterns before adding more complex structures.
