Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify two relevant reasons for excessive clothing purchases: celebrity or influencer promotion and sales encouraging people to buy more than they need. You also suggest responses, including using public figures to influence consumers and placing limits on purchases. However, the second solution is not fully explained, and the conclusion ends unfinished: “should be adressed by” leaves one of your proposed responses incomplete. The opening claim that only a “small number” of people shop for clothes also conflicts with the task’s premise. The response is 244 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum. Develop each solution clearly, support the examples, and complete the conclusion to address both questions more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “To commence with” and “Furthermore” signal the two main reasons, so the reader can follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the celebrity example moves abruptly from buying branded clothing to a proposed solution, while the sales paragraph shifts from cosmetics to clothing without a clear link. Some connectors, such as “In other words” and “In example,” do not accurately express the relationship between the ideas. The final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the overall ending. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each solution directly to its reason, and ensure the conclusion summarises complete points.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “brand ambassador,” “influencer,” “mass purchasing” and “capping approach.” These choices show an effort to discuss consumer behaviour and possible interventions. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the meaning less clear, such as “keen of shopping clothes,” “heavy amount,” “comodity” and “spead there word.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “capping approach” does not specify what is being capped, and “cosmetics material” is not a natural phrase. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling; more precise terms such as “limit the number of items per customer” would make your proposals clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “even if they do not need them” and a relative clause in “which he or she is advertising.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. For example, “individual get attracted” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “there is a report has been published” combines incompatible verb structures. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “Just to wear the brand his or her influencer is wearing. For example, the survey…” The final sentence is incomplete. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles and punctuation before submitting.
