Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three required points: you identify the noise as coming from a neighbour, explain its effect on your sleep and work, and ask the agency to speak to the neighbour about the building rules. The request for action is clear, and the formal complaint is appropriate for the recipient. However, the account of when the problem began is not fully clear: “yesterday” suggests a single incident, while “everything went smoothly” gives little context about whether the noise has continued or happened repeatedly. The effects are relevant but could be developed with a more precise example. To strengthen the letter, clarify the pattern and duration of the disturbance and specify a practical outcome, such as asking the neighbour to keep the volume down after a particular time.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The message follows a sensible overall order: it introduces the complaint, describes its impact, makes a request, and closes politely. Paragraphing helps separate these functions, and phrases such as “due to that noise” show the relationship between the disturbance and its consequences. Some connections are less clear or feel mechanical, however. “Apart from that” does not clearly add to the request, and “it is implemented on everyone who lived this building” is difficult to connect to the preceding sentence. The first paragraph also moves quickly from saying things went smoothly to describing the incident. Use clearer links and references, and keep each paragraph focused on one stage of the complaint, so the progression is easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use several suitable expressions for a formal complaint, including “lodge a formal complaint,” “unbearable noise,” “productivity,” and “swift solution.” These choices communicate the seriousness of the issue and show some range beyond basic vocabulary. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice problems reduce precision: “smothely,” “distrub,” and “look forword” are misspelled, while “my next door flat mate” does not clearly describe the neighbour. Phrases such as “rules and regulation of the property” and “my all the schedule” are also unnatural. Aim for accurate, conventional collocations in formal letters and check spelling carefully. More precise wording will make your complaint sound both clearer and more professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The letter attempts to combine ideas using clauses, for example, “due to that noise i cannot sleep well, and i cannot wake up on time,” and it includes a range of simple and linked sentence forms. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns are frequent enough to make some parts difficult to read. For instance, “my neighbour which flat rents through your agency” lacks a clear relative structure, and “I would like if your agency to talk” is not a complete, correctly formed request. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “the neighbour” and the run-on sequence about your schedule and productivity. Practise accurate request forms and break long sentences into controlled clauses.
