Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three required points: you identify that the issue began last night, explain that the noise disrupted your sleep and affected an important interview, and ask the agency to send someone to warn the neighbour. These details make the complaint relevant and give the reader a clear sense of its impact. However, the start of the problem is not fully clear: you first say “Last week” you rented the flat, then say the neighbour played games “the whole day” and that the problem continued at night. Clarify when the late-night noise first became a problem. Your requested action is also quite brief; you could specify that the agency should contact the neighbour and ensure quiet during late hours.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: you introduce your relationship with the agency, describe the neighbour’s behaviour and its effects, and finish with a request. Separate paragraphs help distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “As a result” show cause and effect. Some connections are less clear or mechanical, however. The opening praise about the agency is not closely linked to the complaint, while “The problem occurs when he didn't stop in the night also” is difficult to follow. The shift from “Last week” to “Last night” also makes the timeline uncertain. Use clearer transitions and keep each paragraph focused on one purpose to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “loud video games,” “wasn't able to sleep properly,” and “send someone to give that neighbour warning.” There are also attempts at more formal language, such as “positive response” and “humble request.” However, several choices or combinations sound unnatural or imprecise, including “makes things worst,” “my day worst,” and “give that neighbour warning.” “The whole day” may also not accurately express the late-night concern. Choose more precise complaint language and natural collocations, such as “disturbed my sleep,” “affected my performance,” and “issue a warning.” This would make the message clearer and more appropriately formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, for example, “Today was a big day for me as I had a interview” and “as he wasn't opening the door and not even responding.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. Examples include “The services i got … is outstanding,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “I couldn't able to rest,” which uses an incorrect verb pattern. “A a result” also shows a proofreading error, and “a interview” needs the correct article. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and verb patterns, such as “I was unable to rest” and “I could not attend the interview on time.”
