Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the late-night gaming and explain that it disrupts your studying, then ask the agency to request quieter behaviour or headphone use. These points are relevant, but the response only partially develops the task: “few week ago” gives a vague start time, and the requested action is not fully clear or specific. The effect on you is explained briefly, without describing consequences such as lost sleep or difficulty preparing for exams. The response also contains 129 words, below the required 150, so there is limited space to develop the points. Add a clearer timeframe and explain the impact and requested action in more detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a recognisable structure: you introduce the complaint, explain its effect, and make a request. The paragraph breaks help separate these functions, and the sequence is generally easy to follow. However, connections between ideas are sometimes abrupt, as in “my exam comes around the corner so i am not able to focus my study” followed by the explanation about working during the day. Some linking and reference are also unclear, particularly “ask to them,” which makes the request less smooth. Use clearer transitions such as “As a result” and “Therefore,” and organise the final request into a complete, direct sentence. This would make the overall progression more controlled and the cohesion less mechanical.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic complaint, including “video games,” “late at night,” “head phones,” and “study.” However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling errors—such as “viedo,” “cornner,” “focces,” and “apricced”—make the letter less clear and less professional. Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “my exam comes around the corner” and “play games to use head phones.” Choose more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, you could say that exams are approaching and ask the neighbour to use headphones or keep the volume down. A wider range of precise complaint-related language would strengthen the message.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine ideas using clauses, for example, “in the day time i go to work so could not do study in a day,” but the range of sentence structures remains limited and several sentences are difficult to follow. Verb forms and sentence construction are frequent problems: “i am lived” should be “I live,” and “they not only played … but also spoke” needs an auxiliary, such as “they not only play … but also speak.” Articles and prepositions are also missing or inaccurate in phrases such as “i am student” and “ask to them.” Use complete sentences with consistent tense, and check subject–verb structure, articles, and punctuation. These changes would make your meaning more reliable.
