Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three required points: the problem began when you moved in last week, the late-night noise affects your sleep and exam preparation, and you ask the agency to intervene. The details about the neighbour inviting friends make the complaint more specific, while the upcoming final exam explains why the issue is urgent. The request to have the neighbours follow agency rules and stop making noise is relevant, but it could be more precise—for example, ask the agency to contact them and ensure quiet hours are observed. The effects on your studies are clear, though the requested action and the impact could be developed a little further. Overall, the letter fulfils its purpose and is appropriately formal.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: you introduce the complaint, explain when it began, describe its effect, and finish with a request. Paragraphing helps separate the background from the impact and proposed action. Time markers such as “last week,” “from the same day,” and “next week” help the reader follow events. However, some links between ideas are awkward or unclear, particularly the long sentence about the neighbours inviting friends and the sentence beginning “Actually next week.” The repeated use of “because” and “which” also makes connections feel somewhat mechanical. Use shorter sentences to distinguish the noise itself from its consequences, and add a clear closing sentence before the sign-off.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the complaint, its effects, and the urgency of your exams. Phrases such as “very high volume,” “final exam,” and “concentrate on study” make the main meaning understandable, and “noise pollution” shows an attempt to use a more formal expression. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “lost of disturbance,” “late night loud noises,” and “inform them to properly follow.” These choices sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended message remains clear. Aim for precise complaint-letter language, such as “considerable disruption,” “late-night noise,” and “ask them to observe the building’s quiet-hours policy.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a sentence explaining how noise affects your sleep and concentration. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the message harder to read. For example, “The problem was started” should be “The problem started,” while “my final exam going to be start” needs a complete future construction, such as “my final exams are due to start.” In “I was unable fall in sleep,” the verb pattern and article use are faulty; write “I was unable to fall asleep.” Review sentence boundaries and punctuation as well: the opening explanation and the long sentence about the neighbours would be clearer as separate, correctly formed sentences.
