Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the main points of the task, such as informing the brother about the move, inviting him to the birthday party, and sharing news about the parents. However, the tone is inconsistent and the structure lacks the formal or semi-formal conventions expected in a letter. While the ideas are relevant, they are presented in a somewhat disjointed manner, and the development of the invitation and the news about the parents could be more cohesive. The response covers the requirements, but the lack of a clear opening and closing structure impacts the overall task fulfillment.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is organized into short, somewhat choppy paragraphs. There is a lack of logical progression between ideas; for example, the transition from the job update to the birthday invitation is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used sparingly and often incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'also' and 'so'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall flow is mechanical. To improve, you should use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') to connect your sentences and ideas more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey ideas with precision. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I did not informed to you' instead of 'I did not inform you' and 'I am given to you invetation' instead of 'I am extending an invitation'. Spelling errors like 'BROTHE', 'INVETATION', 'SUN'S' (for son's), and 'SATRT' are frequent and distracting. While the meaning is generally clear, the range is limited, and the errors in word formation and spelling are noticeable throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar contains frequent errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. There are consistent issues with verb tense and form, such as 'I am living' instead of 'I have been living', and 'they are also agree' instead of 'they have also agreed'. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'SO WHEN YOU WILL COME MY PLACE, YOU CAN MEET ALSO YOUR MOTHER'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization.
