Dear Ma'am/Sir,
I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to inform you that my neighbour who rent in flat, who also rentedin your agency plays very loud video games every late at night.
Over the past weeks, I always hear a loud noises of video games. It began from 9:00pm until 1:00am, the sound had a loud games sound effect and shouting through the headset.
This disturbances had severely impact my sleep and daily routine. Before I contacting you, I attempted to resolve directly and speak to them politely if they can lower the volume of the sound during late hours. Unfortunately, it still no improvement and the noise. is still loud.
As a tenant under your management, we agree about the agreement to had a good environment, particularly the loudness of the music and conversations. I kindly ask you to contact the tenant in flat and remind them the terms and request that they lower the volume especially at late night or use a headset instead.
Thank you for your attention in this matter. I look forward hearing from you regarding this issue will be addressed.
Yours sincerely,
Janna Kimberly

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you say the problem has occurred “over the past weeks,” describe the late-night gaming and its effect on your sleep and routine, and ask the agency to contact the tenant and request quieter behaviour. The request is practical and relevant, and mentioning that you have already spoken to the neighbour adds useful context. However, the start of the problem is not very precise, and the effect on your daily routine is asserted rather than illustrated. The reference to an agreement about “the loudness of the music and conversations” is also unclear and does not directly establish the relevant rule. To strengthen the letter, give a clearer start date or timeframe and explain one concrete consequence, such as difficulty concentrating at work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a recognisable structure: it introduces the complaint, gives details of the noise, explains its impact and your attempted solution, then makes a request and closes politely. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and phrases such as “Unfortunately” and “As a tenant” signal shifts in the message. Some connections are less clear, however. The sentence beginning “Over the past weeks” joins the timeframe and hours in a confusing way, while “the noise. is still loud” interrupts the flow. The agreement paragraph also moves from a general statement to the request without a clear link. Use shorter, clearly connected sentences and make each paragraph focus on one purpose to improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for a formal complaint, including “severely impact,” “resolve directly,” “lower the volume,” and “terms.” These choices communicate the main issue and the action you want. However, several word combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “a loud noises,” “a loud games sound effect,” and “the loudness of the music and conversations.” There is also a noticeable spelling/typing error in “rentedin.” These slips sometimes make the reader pause, so the range is not yet consistently controlled. Aim for natural collocations and precise wording—for example, describe “loud sound effects and shouting” and refer to “noise levels” or “quiet hours” rather than “loudness.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more developed sentence forms, including the relative clause “my neighbour who rent in flat” and the conditional request “if they can lower the volume.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur across verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “who rent” instead of “who rents,” “This disturbances had severely impact,” and “I look forward hearing.” The sentence “Before I contacting you” also has an incorrect verb form, and “it still no improvement” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase. These errors make some sentences difficult to process. Practise accurate present and past forms, subject–verb agreement, and standard patterns such as “look forward to hearing.”
