Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the main requirements: you explain that the noise began “last week,” describe its effect on your ability to work and concentrate, and ask the agency to issue a warning or take other action. These points are relevant and the purpose of the letter is clear. However, some details are less fully developed than others. The task concerns loud video games late at night, but you describe “very loud music” and weekend parties instead, so the central problem is not represented precisely. You could also explain more specifically how the agency should investigate or contact the neighbour. Keeping the focus on gaming noise and making the requested action clearer would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter follows a generally understandable order: you introduce the complaint, give its start date, explain its impact, and finish with a request. This gives the reader a basic progression. However, most of the information is packed into one long paragraph, and several transitions feel mechanical, such as “Firstly,” “Thus,” and “As well as.” The repeated explanation that you work from home also makes the middle section less efficient. Some links between ideas are unclear, particularly the shift from late-night noise to weekend parties. Use separate paragraphs for the problem and its effects, then the requested action, and connect each point with simpler, more precise transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “noise,” “concentrate,” “meetings,” and “warning.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the letter less natural. For example, “do parties” and “live comfortable” do not express the intended meaning idiomatically, while “music” does not accurately describe the video-game noise in the task. Spelling errors such as “beacuse,” “everyday,” and “confortable” are also noticeable. Build a small set of accurate phrases for noise complaints and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your meaning clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand the main message. However, control is inconsistent, especially in the longer sentences, where clauses run together and punctuation is often missing. Examples include “I work from home so that'why your music noise bothers me” and “because of the loud noise am not able to concentrate,” where the sentence structure and required subject are not handled accurately. There are also errors in verb forms and agreement, as in “he do parties,” and in the construction “I would like to tell the agency that you give him warning letters.” Use shorter sentences to separate each point, and check subject–verb agreement, complete clauses, and punctuation before submitting.
