Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the three main points: you identify that the noise began last week, explain that it woke you and affected your sleep and work, and ask the agency to take action. The impact on your job is relevant and gives the complaint a clear purpose. However, the start of the problem is not fully clear: you describe one incident and speculate that the neighbours may have been celebrating, rather than explaining whether this has happened repeatedly. Your request is also quite general; specify a practical step, such as contacting the neighbour and reminding them of the building’s quiet-hours rules. These details would make the response more fully developed while retaining its relevant focus.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter follows a broadly logical sequence, moving from the incident to its effects and then to your request. Linking expressions such as “However,” “Therefore,” and “If” help show relationships between ideas. At times, though, the progression is less smooth because the account shifts from a single noisy night to a general effect on your work without clearly connecting the two. The letter is also presented as one long paragraph, so the main stages are not visually separated. Use short paragraphs for the problem, its impact, and the requested action, and make references such as “that matter” more specific. This would improve the flow and make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the complaint and its consequences, including “loud,” “sleep properly,” and “job performance.” There are also attempts at more formal expressions, such as “take some serious action” and “adverse affect,” although the latter is not the natural phrase for this context. Several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the letter less precise, for example “feeling disturb,” “awoke up,” “alot,” and “thier.” Aim for standard complaint-letter phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise language for the noise and the agency’s response would help you express the situation clearly and appropriately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional sentence about how poor sleep could affect your work. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in verb forms and sentence construction. For example, “after finished my work” needs a correctly formed clause, and “If I will not sleep properly … it put” has problems with the conditional structure and verb agreement. The sentence beginning “I want to let you” is also incomplete as written. Practise forming past-time clauses and conditionals, and check that each sentence has a complete, correctly linked structure. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your complaint more polished.
