Student answer (Band 5.0)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter, with the great dissatisfaction. I shifted this area Nothern Hill from last week and the family who saty next to my door makes noise from the past four days, which was quite distrubing fro my self.
To begin with, I planned a welcome party for my sibblings. The party ended late night. In addition, I planned to play a music chair to rewind our chilhood. In which I totally forgot the time and the music sound went loud. So, the next morning I made appolised with my neighbours and the accept it with warm heart.
From the very next day, I lisened a noise of gamming, but it went increased. First I thought to call my neighbour. Instantally I relised, yesterday I did the same. Moreover, I waited for hour but it got increased and the migraine hit me very badly. Continiousely, the family did the same thing. which will affect my health. I did not take proper sleep because of my work routine.
I would sugest, that could you please take action on this issue, because this has happend for continousely 3 days. I would appricte, if you could reslove this issue propmptely.
Your Faithfully.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You make a request to the agency and explain that the gaming noise is disturbing your sleep and causing a migraine, so the main concern is identifiable. However, the task is only partly addressed because the account of when the problem began is confusing: you say you moved in last week and the noise started four days ago, but then describe your own party and apologise to neighbours, which distracts from the complaint and makes responsibility unclear. The requested action is also vague; “take action” does not tell the agency whether you want it to contact the neighbour or enforce quiet hours. Keep the focus on the neighbour’s late-night gaming, state its start date clearly, and specify a practical remedy.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable opening, several body paragraphs and a closing request, and the ideas about the noise and its effects are grouped to some extent. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the party story interrupts the complaint and appears to describe your own noise rather than the neighbour’s. Some links are also unclear or mechanical: “To begin with” introduces an unrelated event, while “Moreover” and “Continiousely” do not make the relationship between ideas clear. The sentence beginning “From the very next day” contains several events without a clear sequence. Organise the letter around the three requested points, using one paragraph for each and clear time references.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “noise,” “migraine,” “proper sleep” and “work routine,” which helps communicate the impact. However, the range is limited and frequent spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the letter difficult to read, such as “gamming,” “distrubing,” “appolised” and “reslove.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “the family who saty next to my door” and “the migraine hit me very badly.” Choose accurate, conventional phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the neighbour as “the family in the flat next door,” and say the noise “triggered a severe migraine.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “because” and “which,” but control is uneven and errors sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “I shifted this area Nothern Hill from last week” has an unclear tense and sentence structure; “In which I totally forgot the time” is a fragment; and “the accept it with warm heart” has an incomplete verb phrase. There are also problems with articles, agreement and punctuation, as in “a noise,” “the family did the same thing. which will affect my health.” Use complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check tense consistency when describing when the noise began and what has happened since.
