You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 5.5)

Dear Agency Manager.

I am a resident of apartment number 10 since last year. And I rented this apartment through your agency. The appartment is quite good and I love the environment. As its near to park where I am doing my everyday exercise.

Since last month the apartment next to ours is rented by college students. At night they celebrate music parties till morning.

As I have to go for my work early in the morning but due to extreme noise at night I can't sleep properly. Due to which my works disturbs and i have a huge work pressure so becoming mentally tortured.

I therefore request you to kindly inform them to have some ethics and take care of their neighbours mental health. And have music with low voice so that we can't hear and sleep properly.

I would be very grateful to you for this act of kindness.

Your faithfully

Ahmad

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main issue, explain that it began last month, describe its effect on your sleep and work, and ask the agency to contact the neighbours and reduce the noise. These points make the letter relevant and give the reader a clear sense of your complaint. However, the account is not fully consistent with the prompt: you describe “music parties” rather than loud video games, and “the apartment next to ours is rented by college students” does not clearly establish that this is the same neighbour who rents through the agency. The requested action is also somewhat vague. Explain what you want the agency to do if the noise continues, such as reminding the tenants of quiet hours or enforcing the tenancy rules.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable sequence: you introduce yourself, explain the noise, describe its impact, and make a request. Paragraph breaks help separate the background from the complaint, and phrases such as “Since last month” and “I therefore request” signal the progression. However, the opening includes details about the park and exercise that do not help develop the complaint, while the central explanation moves abruptly from the neighbours’ parties to your work pressure. Some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “Due to which my works disturbs.” Organise the letter around the three requested points and connect each cause and effect directly. A more conventional closing would also make the final transition smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “extreme noise,” “sleep properly,” and “work pressure.” There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “mentally tortured,” but this phrase is too strong and unnatural for a formal complaint. Several word choices and collocations are noticeably inaccurate: “celebrate music parties,” “have some ethics,” and “music with low voice” make parts of the message less clear or less natural. Spelling errors such as “appartment” also affect the overall impression. Aim for precise, conventional expressions for noise complaints, and choose a polite but firm tone rather than emotionally charged wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response uses mostly simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to link ideas using “as,” “but,” and “so.” However, several sentences are incomplete or inaccurately formed, which limits clarity. For example, “And I rented this apartment through your agency” is a fragment in this context, and “Due to which my works disturbs” has problems with sentence structure and subject–verb agreement. The opening “Dear Agency Manager.” also uses a full stop where a comma is expected, and “I am a resident … since last year” does not use an appropriate tense construction. Practise combining related ideas into complete sentences and checking tense, agreement, and punctuation before sending a formal letter.
