Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The letter clearly addresses all three requirements: you identify when the problem began (“a couple of weeks”), explain its effects on your sleep, health and work, and ask the agency to contact the neighbour and remind him of the tenancy rules. Your purpose remains clear throughout, and the request to resolve the matter amicably is appropriate. The effects are supported with relevant detail, particularly feeling sleepy during the day and experiencing an impact on work performance. To make the response more fully developed, clarify the timeline: you say the problem began weeks ago but that the same noise has occurred over the past few days. You could also specify a practical action, such as asking the agency to investigate or contact the tenant promptly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear overall progression: it introduces the complaint, describes its consequences, and then states the action you want. Paragraphing supports this sequence, and linking expressions such as “However,” “Due to this issue,” and “In addition to this” help connect related points. The closing is also suitable for a formal letter. Some connections are less smooth because the timeline shifts from “a couple of weeks” to “the past couple of days” without explanation. The sentence beginning “which directly impacts my work performance” is also separated from the preceding idea in a way that interrupts the flow. Clarifying the timeline and joining that consequence more cleanly to the previous sentence would make progression more consistently controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a formal complaint, including “noise emanating through the walls,” “work performance,” “insufficient rest,” and “further escalation.” These choices communicate the problem and its seriousness, and the tone is generally appropriate. There are, however, some inaccurate or unnatural collocations and word forms, such as “bring an issue into your attention,” “a complete rest to my body and brain,” and “sever health issue.” Spelling slips in “directy” and “responce” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, “bring this issue to your attention,” “get a good night’s rest,” and “serious health problems” would express your meaning more idiomatically.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter includes both simple and more developed sentence forms, such as “After spending all the day with my clients, I expect…” and “I would like you to contact the resident and remind him…”. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. For example, “I have already discuss” should use the past participle, while “the noise disturb my sleep” needs subject–verb agreement. The fragment beginning “which directly impacts…” should be attached to a complete sentence, and “every mid-night” is not correctly formed as written. Review past participles, singular/plural agreement, and punctuation between clauses. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
