Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The letter clearly addresses all three requested points. You identify when the issue began (“approximately three weeks ago”), explain its effect through sleep deprivation and difficulty concentrating at work, and make a specific request for the agency to remind the tenant of the rules and ask them to use headphones or lower the volume. The complaint remains clear and appropriately formal throughout. The impact is supported with relevant detail, and the requested action is practical. To make the response more fully developed, you could clarify whether you have already tried speaking to the neighbour and ask the agency to confirm what action it will take. Overall, the purpose and your position are consistently clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter follows a clear, logical sequence: it introduces the complaint, describes when and how the noise occurs, explains its consequences, and then requests action. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, while connectors such as “Consequently” make the cause-and-effect relationship easy to follow. The closing is also appropriate for a formal letter. Some links between ideas could be smoother: “Ever they arrive” does not clearly express the intended sequence, and the sentence about sound passing through the wall is difficult to connect to the preceding description. More precise transitions and clearer referencing would strengthen the progression. Nevertheless, the overall organisation is easy to follow and the reader can identify the main points without difficulty.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary suited to a formal complaint, including “lodge a complaint,” “ongoing disturbance,” “sleep deprivation,” and “daily routine.” These choices communicate the seriousness of the problem and show some range beyond basic wording. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “dirctly,” “inreolving,” “cyrren,” and “prompty,” and some combinations are unnatural, such as “incredible loud noise” and “heavy bass pass.” These slips sometimes make the description harder to understand, particularly the sentence about the sound passing through the wall. Check spelling carefully and choose familiar, accurate collocations before attempting more elaborate phrasing. More precise vocabulary would make the complaint sound both clearer and more professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response includes a mix of sentence forms, including a complex sentence beginning “Because of this noise” and a result clause introduced by “Consequently.” This allows you to explain both the cause and the effects of the disturbance. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms occur often enough to affect clarity. For example, “Ever they arrive they have been playing” does not form a correct time clause, and “I would be grateful if you could contact the tenant in Flat 45 remind them” is missing a grammatical link before “remind.” There are also punctuation and spacing problems that interrupt sentence boundaries. Aim to build accurate clauses first, then add complex structures, and proofread for complete sentences and correct punctuation.
