Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the main purpose by reporting late-night gaming noise, explaining its effects on your mother and children, and asking the agency to take action. However, the task is only partly covered: the start of the problem is not clearly stated. “After remarking 4 to 5 days” suggests when you identified the source, rather than when the noise began. The request for action is also vague (“take some steps”); specify a practical response, such as contacting the neighbour and enforcing quiet hours. The mention of “late night party songs” introduces a different source of noise from the video games, which makes the complaint less focused. Develop the timeline and requested remedy more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable sequence: you introduce the complaint, describe its effects, and finish with a request. This gives the reader a basic overall structure. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly in “As in beginning” and the explanation that you discovered the noise “besides from my house.” The effects paragraph combines your mother’s sleep problem, party songs, and your children’s studies without clear links between these points. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs and straightforward transitions such as “The noise began…” and “As a result…”. The closing request should follow directly from the problem and state the action you expect, rather than relying on a general reference to legal action.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “annoying,” “disturbing,” “serious issue,” and “legal action.” However, the range and control are limited, and several word choices or combinations make the meaning awkward: “big sound of games,” “crowd related to audio and video games,” and “prevent from this matter” are not natural ways to describe the situation. There are also spelling errors, such as “undersatand” and “distrurb,” which reduce accuracy. Choose precise phrases commonly used in formal complaints, such as “loud gaming noise,” “disrupts my family’s sleep,” and “take appropriate action.” This would make the message clearer and more professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentence forms, for example the sentence beginning “My mother has a serious issue,” and the final conditional sentence about signing for legal action. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the letter difficult to follow. Examples include “I am writing to this letter,” “my mother… so she is not able to sleep,” and “I humble request you,” where sentence construction and grammatical patterns are not controlled. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and “yours.” Aim for shorter, complete sentences first, then add accurate clauses: “The noise began recently. It keeps my mother awake, and my children struggle to study.”
