Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three required points: you say the issue arose after moving in last month, describe its effect on your sleep and health, and ask the agency to take action. The impact is made clear through details such as covering your ears, developing a headache and needing to wake early for work. However, the timing of the noise is not fully clear: the letter mentions arriving home at 6 p.m. and lying down at 10 p.m., but does not explicitly say the neighbour plays games late at night or when this behaviour first began. The request for “strict rules and regulations” is relevant but general. Specify a practical step, such as contacting the neighbour and enforcing quiet hours, to develop this part more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter follows a sensible overall order: you introduce the problem, explain its effects, and then make a request. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and the reader can understand your main concern. Some connections between ideas are less clear, however. The long sentence beginning “I can from the work at 6pm” combines your routine, tiredness and the noise without clear punctuation, making the sequence difficult to follow. The repeated use of “because” and “but” also makes the linking somewhat mechanical. Use shorter sentences to separate events, and add clear time references—for example, explain when the noise starts and how often it happens. A more specific closing request would also give the letter a clearer progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main problem and its effects, including “serious problem,” “loud music,” “covered my ears” and “sleeping pills.” These choices make your complaint understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are unnatural, such as “on a rent,” “take immediate actions” and “other flat member.” The task also concerns loud video games, but you refer to “music,” which is less precise. Aim for more accurate complaint-letter language and natural collocations, such as “rent a flat,” “take immediate action,” and “other residents.” Check spelling and word forms as well, including “Thank you” and “painful headache.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to explain events using both simple and longer sentence forms, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors in verb forms, sentence construction and punctuation sometimes make the account harder to follow. For example, “I can from the work” and “my neighbor play” need corrected verb forms, while “I was just lay down” does not form a correct past-tense construction. The sentence beginning “I was tried everything” also combines clauses without clear control. Practise forming past-tense sequences consistently and separating complete ideas with full stops. Pay attention to capitalisation and punctuation, too, such as the lowercase “i” and missing spaces after commas. More accurate control of these patterns would make your message clearer.
