Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three requested points: you explain that the problem began after moving in last week, describe its effect on studying and sleep, and ask the agency to speak to the neighbour about playing earlier or lowering the volume. The specific detail that the noise returns after about 15 minutes helps explain why the problem persists. Your purpose is clear throughout, and the request is relevant. To make the letter more fully developed, state more explicitly that the gaming happens late at night and ask the agency to follow up or take action if it continues. Also use the requested opening, “Dear Sir or Madam,” and a more formal closing to suit a letter to an agency.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall sequence: you introduce the noise, explain its impact, and then make a request. Paragraphing separates the problem from its effects and proposed solution, while connectors such as “moreover” help show how the noise affects you in different ways. This gives the reader a workable progression. However, some links are awkward or repetitive, particularly “at first” followed by “however,” and the long opening paragraph combines several events without clear sentence boundaries. The reference in “this person” is understandable but could be more precise. Use shorter, clearly separated sentences and organise the account of your attempts to resolve the issue before moving to its consequences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main issue, with relevant expressions such as “loud noise,” “video games,” “lower the volume,” and “disturb my sleep.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or forms make the letter less natural and sometimes slow the reader. Examples include “loud noisies,” “cause root,” “long noise,” and “bring it to avtion.” Some phrases also do not fit the intended meaning, such as “come accross through the walls.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise language such as “persistent noise,” “disrupt my concentration,” and “take action” would make the complaint clearer and more appropriate for an agency.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example when explaining that you study after work and need to wake early for college. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand the message. Examples include “requested them to reduced,” “he lower the voice,” and “this disturb my sleep.” There are also unclear constructions such as “Last week i moved …, i had experienced,” where the tense and punctuation need attention. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “so,” or “although.” Check subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms during proofreading.
