Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify a relevant concern: your neighbour makes loud noise, and it affects your ability to concentrate on your studies. However, the letter only minimally addresses the task. It does not clearly explain when the noise problem began, and it does not say what action you want the agency to take. The opening also focuses on when you moved in rather than when the disturbance started. The response is 43 words, so it falls 107 words short of the required minimum; this leaves the complaint and its requested solution largely undeveloped. To improve, explain when the late-night gaming began, describe its effects in more detail, and make a specific request, such as asking the agency to contact the neighbour. Add an appropriate closing as well.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

The response has a basic sequence: you introduce the accommodation issue, identify the neighbour, and mention an effect on your studies. The phrase “because of that” attempts to connect the noise with its consequence, so the relationship between these points is understandable. However, the letter is extremely brief and presented as one continuous block, with no clear development of the three requested points. The shift from “I have moved in 3 months” to the neighbour’s behaviour is also not clearly explained. Organise the letter into short paragraphs—for example, the background and start of the problem, its impact, and your request—and use clear links such as “Since then” and “I would therefore appreciate it if…”

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a few relevant words and phrases, including “concern,” “neighbour,” “plays music loudly,” and “concentrate on my studies,” which make the general complaint understandable. However, the vocabulary range is narrow, and some spelling and word-form errors reduce accuracy: “writting,” “latter,” “accomadation,” “neighboor,” and “stydies.” Also, “neighbour flat mate” is unclear, and “plays music” does not match the task’s detail that the neighbour plays loud video games. Use precise complaint vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, describe “loud gaming sounds” or “noise late at night,” and refer to the person as “my neighbour” or “the tenant in the adjoining flat.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to communicate the complaint using simple sentence patterns, and the final clause, “I can’t concentrate on my studies,” conveys a clear effect. However, the range of structures is very limited, and errors in sentence construction and punctuation make parts difficult to follow. In “the accommodation which i have moved in 3 months,” the relative clause is incomplete and the time expression is not correctly connected to the verb. The sentence beginning “he plays music loudly” also needs clearer punctuation or a linking structure before “because of that.” Capitalise “I” and begin sentences with capital letters. Practise accurate patterns such as “I moved into the flat three months ago” and “The noise has made it difficult for me to concentrate.”
