Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main points: you say the neighbour plays games around 10 or 11 p.m., explain that the noise interrupts your studying, and ask the agency to contact the neighbour. However, the beginning of the problem is not explained: the letter gives times when the noise occurs, but not when it started. The effects are relevant but repeated, and the request to “reduce their video games sound slowly” is unclear about the action you expect. The response is also one word below the required minimum of 150 words. Add when the disturbance began, develop its impact with a specific consequence, and make a clear, polite request, such as asking the agency to remind the neighbour of quiet hours or its noise policy.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation: the response moves from introducing the situation to describing the noise and its effect, then makes a request. This gives the reader a basic sense of the letter’s purpose. However, the progression is weakened by repetition: the effect on studying is stated several times, while the start of the problem is omitted. Connections between events are sometimes difficult to follow, particularly the long account of housework and going for a walk before studying. Paragraphing is present, but the ideas within paragraphs are not always clearly grouped. Use a simple sequence—when the noise began, what happens at night and how it affects you, then the action requested—and use linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “accommodation agency,” “video games,” “extremely loud,” and “focused my study,” so the reader can identify the central problem. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the message difficult to understand, such as “I and distrub before studying,” “the noise has extremely effects,” and “reduce their video games sound slowly.” The repeated use of “distrub” also limits precision. Choose standard, accurate phrases for the impact and request: for example, “the noise disturbs me,” “it affects my concentration,” and “turn down the volume.” Proofreading spelling and checking common word combinations would make the letter clearer and more appropriate for a formal complaint.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the reader can generally recognise the situation and your request. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or inaccurately formed, as in “I writing a letter” and “Although my neighbors also same flat agency.” Verb forms and agreement are also inconsistent: “my neighbor played” describes a recurring problem, while “I am not focused my study” does not form a correct sentence. Punctuation and capitalisation are unreliable, including the lower-case “i” and spaces before full stops. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise complete subject–verb sentences and consistent present-tense forms, such as “My neighbour plays games late at night, so I cannot concentrate on my studies.”
