Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify the central issue—your neighbour plays loud music and video games late at night—and explain that it disrupts your sleep and affects your son, who must get up early for school. You also ask the agency to solve the problem, so the main purpose is apparent. However, the letter does not clearly explain when the problem began, and the requested action is vague: “please solve my problem” does not say whether you want the agency to contact the neighbour or take another specific step. The response is also 18 words below the required minimum, leaving these points underdeveloped. Add a clear start time or date and a specific, polite request to the agency.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The ideas are broadly relevant and follow a basic sequence: you introduce yourself, describe the noise, explain its effect on your family, and ask the agency for help. This gives the reader a general sense of your complaint. However, the information is presented as one continuous block, and links such as “Because this reason,” “But the situation,” and “so” do not clearly show how the points relate. Some details, including your location and family situation, could be grouped more purposefully. Use separate paragraphs for the problem, its effects, and your requested action, and connect them with straightforward transitions such as “This has affected…” and “I would therefore appreciate it if…”.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic complaint, including “neighbour,” “late night,” “loud music,” “student,” and “agency.” The reader can understand that the noise is disturbing your family. However, the range is limited and several choices or spellings make the letter less clear or natural, such as “irritaing,” “rise the complain,” “complain focus,” and “proutly.” Some phrases are repeated without adding detail, particularly “solve my problem” and “solve my complain.” Aim for accurate, natural expressions for a formal complaint, such as “make a complaint,” “disturbing the household,” and “take appropriate action.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise collocations would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to communicate several connected ideas, including the effect on your son, but most sentences rely on simple structures and errors often make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “I Write to complain for my neighbour was Irritating me” has an unclear clause structure, while “my son is a student and daily routine going to school” is missing a clear verb pattern. There are also problems with verb forms and sentence boundaries in “I am very irritaing this situation and couldn;t sleeping properly.” Practise complete sentence patterns such as “I am writing to complain that…” and “My son has to get up early, so the noise affects his sleep.” Check punctuation and capitalisation as you revise.
