Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify a noise problem and explain that it disrupts your ability to study, and you ask the agency to speak to the neighbours. However, the task’s key details are only partly addressed: “one month later of shifting” does not clearly state when the gaming noise began, and the response mentions shouting and rubbish rather than clearly describing loud video games late at night. Your request is also vague, and the threat to leave does not explain what specific action you expect from the agency. The response is 129 words, below the required 150, so there is limited space to develop these points. Add a clear timeline, explain the effect on sleep or daily life, and request a specific intervention.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The letter has a recognisable sequence: you introduce a problem, describe some effects, and finish with a request. This gives the reader a basic sense of purpose. However, the ideas are not consistently arranged or connected: the sentence about rubbish appears suddenly between the noise and your attempts to resolve it, and “Everytime i cleaned” is not clearly linked to the neighbours’ behaviour. Several short statements are placed together without clear transitions, while the final request and explanation run into one another. Use separate paragraphs for the problem, its effects and your requested action, and connect events with clear phrases such as “Since then” and “As a result.”

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary that communicates the general situation, including “noise,” “disturbing,” “study,” and “action.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear or unnatural, such as “next door flatmate boys,” “through scrap,” and “say them.” The letter also repeats simple terms such as “many time” and “problem” rather than using more precise language for the noise and its effects. Choose expressions that describe the situation directly, for example, “neighbours in the adjoining flat,” “leave rubbish outside my door,” and “contact them about the disturbance.” Check spelling and word forms, including “accommodation” and “definitely.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple structures, and the reader can understand the main complaint, but grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “one month later of shifting” does not form a clear time expression, and “I request to you please say them” has an incorrect sentence pattern. There are also problems with tense and agreement in “they were moved here” and “they didn't listen,” as well as missing punctuation and capitalisation in “i” and “to me.I.” Try building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “The noise began about a month after I moved in.” Then proofread for sentence boundaries, verb forms and capital letters.
