Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you explain that the noise began after you returned from vacation, describe being kept awake and unable to focus at work, and ask the agency to warn your neighbour. The request to resolve the matter internally also gives the letter a clear purpose. This meets the task well, although some details are not fully clear or developed: “It was not like this before I want on time away” is difficult to interpret, and you could specify how often the gaming happens or what action you expect if the warning does not work. The threat to contact the police is relevant but could be framed more diplomatically for an agency letter. More precise detail and fuller development would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible overall order: you introduce the complaint, explain when it began, describe its effects, and make a request before closing. Paragraph breaks help separate these stages, and phrases such as “because of that” show the relationship between the noise and its impact. However, progression is occasionally disrupted by unclear sentence construction, particularly “Recently, when I came back from my vacation and I noticed…” and “It was not like this before…”. The transition from asking for a warning to threatening a police complaint is also abrupt. Use clearer sentence boundaries and link the requested steps in sequence—for example, ask the agency to intervene first, then explain what you may do if the problem continues.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “late night,” “video games,” “warning,” and “complaint.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-choice, and collocation errors make parts of the letter harder to understand. “Lots of loud” does not clearly describe the sound, while “this sounds make me awake” is not a natural expression. Errors such as “noice,” “daisy,” and “compalint” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise phrases commonly used in formal complaints, such as “excessive noise,” “keeps me awake,” and “submit a formal complaint.” Proofreading spelling and choosing natural word combinations would make your meaning clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect sentence about the noise affecting your work and a conditional sentence beginning “If it is continue…”. However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence structures and verb forms are faulty enough to make the reader pause. For example, “Recently, when I came back from my vacation and I noticed” combines clauses awkwardly, while “If it is continue after that” needs a correctly formed conditional clause. “I have benn respected neighbour from long time” also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise forming complete sentences, using consistent past and present tenses, and checking articles and verb forms. Clearer punctuation would also help separate ideas.
