Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points in the prompt: you say the noise began last month, explain that it disrupts your sleep and concentration, and ask the agency to issue a notice about keeping the volume down. These details make the purpose of the letter clear. Some points are less fully developed than others, however. The start of the problem is linked to the neighbour buying a PS5, but the timing and frequency of the late-night gaming could be explained more clearly. You also mention asking the neighbours to lower the volume, but could briefly say when or how often you tried. A more specific request—for example, asking the agency to contact the tenant and enforce quiet hours—would make your desired action clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: the opening explains the complaint, the next paragraph describes its effects, and the final paragraph makes a request. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” show how details relate. The progression is not always smooth, though: the mention of the neighbour’s friend and a party interrupts the explanation of when the problem began, and “However” does not clearly contrast with the preceding paragraph. Some references, such as “them” and “they,” are also not fully clear. To strengthen the flow, group related details together and use simpler, more precise links between the problem, its effects, and your request.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main complaint, including “late night,” “sleep properly,” “work and study,” and “volume.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the letter difficult to understand, such as “daily routing life,” “focuse,” “affect my minedset,” and “no pice of mind.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “plays very loud game play” and “give them the notice.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, “the noise is affecting my daily routine” and “issue a formal warning” would express your meaning more clearly and appropriately for a letter to an agency.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including “Whenever he plays the game, I can’t even sleep properly” and a sentence explaining the effect on your work and study. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, sentence construction, and punctuation occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For instance, “my neighbour who live beside me, he…” has incorrect agreement and an unnecessary repeated subject, while “It’s started last month” uses an unsuitable verb form. The request sentence, “I would i to sudggest that,” is also structurally unclear. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense consistency, agreement, and capitalisation.
