Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the main situation and make a clear request for the agency to intervene. The timing is partly explained by saying the neighbours arrived “after some days ago,” and you describe the impact on your sleep and early work start. However, the start of the problem remains vague, and the account focuses on loud television or a “deck” rather than clearly identifying late-night video games. The request to “control this noise” is relevant but would be stronger if you specified an action, such as contacting the neighbours and asking them to keep the volume down at night. These omissions and limited development mean the task is only partially addressed; clearer details would make the letter more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter follows a basic sequence: you introduce your tenancy, describe the neighbours and noise, explain its effect, and make a request. This gives the reader a general sense of your purpose. However, the ideas are crowded into long blocks rather than separated into clear paragraphs, and progression is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, “They consist of 4 peoples and all are same ages” is followed by several details about their activities without a clear link to the specific complaint. Connectors such as “but” are used repeatedly and sometimes awkwardly. Organise the letter into an opening, a paragraph about when the noise began and its effects, and a final paragraph with a specific request; use linking phrases more selectively.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “opposite flat,” “whole night,” “slumber,” and “noise,” so the central complaint can be understood. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the message less natural or occasionally unclear. “Deck” does not clearly communicate the source of the noise, while “increased base” appears to mean that the neighbours turned up the bass. Phrases such as “take a flat on rent” and “control this noise for me” are also not idiomatic in this context. Choose precise terms for the activity and its effect, and check spelling and collocations. More accurate expressions such as “rent a flat,” “play video games,” and “turn up the volume” would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes making relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “I take a flat” and “They waked,” where the verb forms do not fit the intended past events, and “your agency are,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “because your agency are very popular for rentting the flats. Am live my times very comfort in your flat.” Articles, pronouns, and sentence structure need more consistent control. Practise forming clear past-tense sentences and checking each sentence for a subject and a correctly conjugated verb before adding further details.
