Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify the central problem—noise from a neighbouring tenant—and explain that it disrupts your work and your children’s studying. However, the letter only partly fulfils the task: it does not say when the problem began, and the request for action is vague (“take necessary action” does not specify what you want the agency to do). The opening also says you approached the agency “recently,” which does not clarify the start of the noise. The response is 118 words, below the required 150, so there is not enough detail to develop the situation and your requested solution. Add a clear timeframe, specific effects, and a practical request, such as contacting the neighbour or enforcing quiet hours.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The main information is presented in a broadly understandable order: you introduce yourself, describe the neighbour’s noise and its effects, then ask the agency to act. This gives the reader a basic sense of the purpose of the letter. However, the response is largely one continuous paragraph, so the problem, its consequences and the requested action are not clearly separated. Some links between ideas are awkward, and the opening small talk (“Hi how are you?”) delays the complaint rather than helping its progression. Use a conventional formal opening, then organise the letter into short paragraphs for the background, impact and requested action. Clearer transitions would make the sequence easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the main issue, including “disturbing,” “focus on my work” and “take necessary action.” There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “bring you to the notice,” although this phrase is not natural in this context. Several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less clear or less appropriate, including “noice,” “neighborhood” for a person, and “Thinking you” as a closing. The vocabulary is therefore limited and errors are noticeable, even though the reader can understand the general complaint. Learn standard phrases for formal complaints and choose precise terms such as “neighbour,” “noise,” and “I look forward to hearing from you.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response includes simple statements and an attempt to combine ideas, for example, “I couldn't focus on my work and my children cant able to study.” This communicates the impact, but the sentence contains errors in modal construction and punctuation. Other examples include “who have been approached” and “there kids,” where the verb form and possessive determiner are incorrect. The writing relies mainly on simple sentence patterns, and attempts at longer structures are often inaccurate, which sometimes makes the reader pause to interpret the meaning. Practise accurate present and past forms, subject–verb agreement, and sentence boundaries. For example: “The noise began last month, and it has made it difficult for me to work and for my children to study.”
