Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you say the problem began after the neighbour’s birthday and has continued for three weeks, explain that it disrupts your exam study and sleep, and ask the agency to intervene. The request for a “fine” gives the agency a possible action, while mentioning that you have already spoken to the neighbour adds useful context. However, some details are unclear or not fully developed: the account shifts from video games in the prompt to loud music and gatherings, and “I want you guys give him noice or fine” does not clearly specify what action you expect. Explain the impact and desired remedy more precisely, such as asking the agency to remind the neighbour of quiet hours and enforce the tenancy rules.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for the complaint, its effects, and your request, and the sequence from the start of the problem to seeking help is generally understandable. Some linking is effective, as in “As we have same accommodation agency,” which connects the neighbour’s tenancy to your appeal. However, several sentences contain too many ideas without clear boundaries, particularly the paragraph beginning “I am studying late night,” which runs from exam preparation to sleep and then ends with an unfinished thought about speaking to the neighbour. The transition to “As we have same accommodation agency” also repeats information from the opening. Use shorter, complete sentences and clearer paragraph links so each point progresses smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to a complaint, including “noisy environment,” “take some action,” “focus,” and “enough sleep,” so the reader can understand the main concern. There are also attempts to express the effects in different ways, such as “irritating” and “lazy.” However, word choice and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the message harder to follow: “pease” appears to mean “peace,” “dined” likely means “denied,” and “noice or fine” is unclear. Phrases such as “late night fun activities” and “positive action” are also vague or unnatural in this context. Choose precise collocations such as “late-night gaming,” “disturb my sleep,” and “issue a warning or impose a fine.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason-and-result structure in “I am studying late night for my final year exam and the noise affacts my pease. as result…”. This shows an effort to explain how the noise affects you, but some sentence structures and verb forms are inaccurate, and punctuation sometimes obscures the meaning. For example, “I want you take some action” needs an infinitive marker, while “This all started … and it is last for three weeks now” combines tenses incorrectly. The sentence ending “I requested him” is incomplete, and “I can not” is better written as “I cannot.” Practise complete sentences, consistent tense choices, and accurate clause boundaries; these changes will make your meaning clearer.
