Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you say the noise began “around one week” ago, explain that it disrupts your course and sleep, and request a warning or written notice. The complaint is relevant and your desired action is clear. The details about your 9 p.m.–12:30 a.m. course help show the impact, although the request could be more fully developed—for example, ask the agency to contact the neighbour promptly and ensure the noise stops during late-night hours. The opening also gives useful context about both flats being rented through the agency. To strengthen the letter further, make the timeline and the action you expect especially precise, while maintaining a consistently formal tone.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: you introduce the complaint, describe its effects, make a request, and close politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and connectors such as “Moreover” and “In addition” show attempts to link ideas. However, some links feel mechanical or unclear, particularly “So, now the problem is,” and the first paragraph combines background, timing, and frustration in a long sequence. The transition from the course impact to sleep is understandable but could be smoother. For clearer progression, use one focused paragraph for the situation and when it began, another for its effects, and a final one for the agency’s requested action. Ensure each sentence has a clear connection to the one before it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “plays video games,” “midnight,” “verbal warning,” and “written notice.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make the letter less natural, such as “loude music,” “keeping my patient,” and “take some measurement.” “International cousre” is also unclear in this context. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main message, but they show limited control of collocation and spelling. Aim to learn common formal complaint phrases and check word forms carefully; for example, describe the noise as “loud music” and say that it “disturbs” your studies or sleep.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can generally follow the complaint. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences often contain errors that affect clarity. Examples include “It has been affected me,” where the verb pattern is incorrect, and “I have one international course which start,” where the relative clause needs a correctly formed verb. In “it disturb me in my study,” the subject–verb agreement and sentence structure are faulty. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and the long, loosely joined sentence in the first paragraph. Practise accurate present-tense clauses and sentence boundaries, then proofread for agreement, verb forms, and capital letters.
