Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you identify the problem as beginning after the neighbours bought a PS5 last week, explain that the noise disrupts your late-night IELTS study and your daughter’s sleep, and ask the agency to contact them. The purpose is clear and the tone is generally appropriate for a formal complaint. Some details are less fully developed, however. For example, “every late night” does not specify the hours or how often the gaming continues, and “please do less voice” leaves the requested outcome vague. State the hours and ask the agency to remind the neighbours of quiet hours or take appropriate steps to reduce the noise. This would make the request and its supporting details more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening that states the complaint, a paragraph explaining its background and effects, and a closing request. Sequencing words such as “Firstly” and “So” help show the relationship between events and consequences. However, some links feel mechanical, and the first paragraph combines your introduction, the agency relationship, and the complaint in a crowded sequence. The shift from the neighbours’ gaming to your study and daughter’s sleep could also be made more smoothly. Use clearer paragraphing and linking phrases such as “Since then” and “As a result,” and make references like “they” unmistakably refer to the neighbours. This would improve progression while keeping the letter easy to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the situation, including “neighbour,” “video games,” “late night,” “disturbed,” and “loud voice.” The reader can understand the main complaint, but the range is limited and several word choices or combinations sound unnatural, such as “intensive sound,” “got disturbed,” and “do less voice.” These choices make the request less precise and occasionally require the reader to interpret your meaning. Aim for natural collocations used in formal complaints, such as “excessive noise,” “the noise is disturbing me,” and “reduce the volume.” More precise vocabulary for the impact and the action you want would make the letter clearer and more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, for example, “As I am studying Ielts examination so i have to study till late night.” This shows an effort to explain cause and effect, but some sentence patterns and verb forms are inaccurate. Examples include “I writing this” instead of “I am writing this,” “They had also took flat” instead of “They also rented a flat,” and “I would be appreciate it” instead of “I would appreciate it.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly in “i,” “My,” and the run-on opening paragraph. Practise accurate present and past forms, articles, and complete sentence patterns; then check punctuation and capital letters. These corrections would make your meaning more consistently clear.
