Dear Sir,

I am writing to complain you regarding the accomodation you have alloted me last week and the dispute has been started couple of days ago. This is the facing apartment in neighbourhood who consistently disturbing us by making screamy noises, loud video games and music.

Due to the bass effect of sound, it causes vibrations in all our apartment. Although this is their personal choices, it creates problems for us becasue it hinders our sleep. As a working women, i need to get enough sleep to work productively in the workplace but it consistently effecting my sleep schedule which causes sleep deprivation and higher anxiety levels.

As you have allocated them this flat, i would like you to ask them to follow basic rules and regulations to not to disturb neighbours or make a possibility to relocate them to other residential area.

Please let me know if you want further written explanation and i look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Manayer

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three requested points: it says the disturbance began “couple of days ago,” describes how the bass affects the flat and your sleep, and asks the agency to intervene. The impact is made personal and relevant through the explanation that poor sleep affects your work and anxiety. However, the start of the problem is not fully clear because it is linked to receiving the flat “last week,” and the requested action is somewhat broad: asking the neighbours to follow rules or relocating them. Specify the time of night and ask the agency to contact the neighbour, remind them of quiet hours, or investigate the complaint. The purpose is clear, though some details are less fully developed than others.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: the opening introduces the complaint, the next paragraph explains its effects, and the final body paragraph states what you want the agency to do. Linking expressions such as “Although” and “As” help show relationships between ideas, and the closing is appropriate. This gives the response a coherent progression. Some connections are less smooth, however: “the dispute has been started couple of days ago” does not clearly connect the timing to the noise problem, and “As you have allocated them this flat” makes the request sound abrupt. Use clearer references and transitions—for example, “The noise began a few days ago” and “I would therefore be grateful if you could contact the tenant.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary to describe the problem and its consequences, including “vibrations,” “sleep deprivation,” and “anxiety levels.” These choices communicate more than a basic complaint, and the reader can understand the main issue. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “screamy noises,” “bass effect of sound,” and “facing apartment.” Spelling errors in “accomodation,” “alloted,” and “becasue” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural phrases commonly used in formal complaints, such as “loud gaming noise,” “the bass causes vibrations,” and “the neighbouring flat.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise, conventional expressions would make your vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts a mix of sentence forms, including a complex sentence beginning “Although this is their personal choices” and a longer explanation of how noise affects your work. The main message remains understandable, but grammatical control is uneven. Examples include “I am writing to complain you” (missing “to” after “complain”), “the dispute has been started” (an unsuitable passive construction), and “it consistently effecting my sleep schedule” (missing an auxiliary verb). There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “this is their personal choices” and “As a working women.” Practise building accurate clauses with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles, and verb forms before submitting.
