Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main situation and explain that the noise happens late at night, affects your sleep, and has consequences for your work and your children’s schooling. The request to move to another vacant unit is clear, but it does not directly ask the agency to address the neighbour’s noise, so the requested action is only partly aligned with the problem. The start of the problem is also implied rather than clearly stated: you mention that the flat was peaceful before it became occupied, but do not say when this change occurred. Develop these points by giving a specific timeframe and asking the agency to contact the neighbour or enforce quiet hours, while retaining your relocation request if that is your preference.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure: you introduce the complaint, describe its effects, make a request, and close politely. Paragraphing helps separate these functions. However, progression within the first two paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences, such as the account of the flat being peaceful before the neighbour moved in. The repeated use of “also” and “when” does not always make the relationships between effects clear. The request to move is understandable, but the reason that the children “can play whole day” seems disconnected from the complaint about late-night gaming. Use shorter sentences, clearer time links, and a direct transition from the impact to the action you want the agency to take.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “late at night,” “vacant,” “sleep well,” and “affect my work.” The reader can generally identify the problem and its consequences. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts less clear or less natural, such as “a complain,” “a loud sounds,” “quite” for “quiet,” and “vedio games.” Some expressions, including “it is so frustrated for me,” do not convey the intended meaning accurately. Aim for precise phrases suited to a formal complaint, such as “the noise is disruptive” and “I am experiencing sleep deprivation.” Check spelling and choose natural combinations of words before sending the letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas using clauses and time expressions, for example, “when someone is renting and occupied that particular condo” and “if they continue being noisy every night.” However, the sentence structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries can make the message difficult to follow. For instance, “it affect my work” needs subject–verb agreement, while “when i go to my job i have a little sleep only” has an unclear structure. Several sentences run together without effective punctuation. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses. For example: “The noise began when the new tenant moved in. I often cannot sleep, which affects my work the next day.”
