Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you say the noise began about a week ago, explain that it wakes you and affects your sleep before an early workday, and ask the agency to issue the neighbour a notice. The purpose is clear and the details are relevant. The account of when the problem began is somewhat confusing, however, because the neighbour’s tenancy “few month ago” is mentioned before the one-week start date, and “12.30 pm” does not clearly identify a late-night time. Your request for action is also quite general; specify that the agency should contact the neighbour and ensure quiet is maintained at night. The letter already shows some development through the effect on your sleep, but clearer timing and a more precise request would make the response more complete and assured.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a recognisable structure, moving from the complaint to its effects and then to the action you want, with separate paragraphs that help the reader follow the main points. Linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “However,” and “As a result” show an effort to connect ideas. At times, though, the links are mechanical or the relationship between sentences is unclear. For example, “Firstly” does not introduce a clear sequence, and “However” does not express a clear contrast in the sentence about when the noise began. The opening also combines several ideas without a smooth progression. Organise the first paragraph around the start and nature of the noise, then use the next paragraph for its impact and your previous attempt to resolve it. Clearer referencing and more natural transitions would strengthen the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “reduce the volume,” “disturbing to my sleep,” “loud sound,” and “notice.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less natural and occasionally slow the reader: “noice,” “weired,” “adivsable,” and “nighbour” are examples. Some phrases are also awkward, such as “this inform about” and “game sounding system.” Aim for accurate, conventional expressions used in formal complaints, and check spelling carefully. You can also avoid repeating “loud sound” by using precise alternatives such as “noise” or “the gaming audio.” These improvements would make your meaning clearer and your tone more appropriate for an agency.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “because this weired sound” and a result clause beginning “As a result of this loud sound.” However, many sentences contain errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, or prepositions, and these sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “my neighbour john who rent” is not a complete sentence and has incorrect subject–verb agreement; “it was begining one week ago” uses an unsuitable tense; and “it hard to wake up nearly 4.30 am for go to work” has several missing grammatical elements. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and review past-tense forms and infinitive patterns. More accurate control of these structures would make the letter easier to read.
