Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you identify that the neighbour’s gaming happens late at night, explain that it disrupts your sleep and worsens your migraine, and request that the agency issue a warning and possibly require the neighbour to leave if the behaviour continues. These details make the complaint relevant and give the agency a clear general sense of the problem. However, the start of the problem is not clearly established: “last saturday” describes one occasion, but does not say when the disturbance first began or whether it has happened repeatedly. The requested action is also somewhat unclear in places. To strengthen the letter, state when the noise started and how often it occurs, then set out a clear, proportionate request for the agency to investigate and contact the neighbour.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter follows a broadly sensible order: you introduce the complaint, describe the noise and its effects, and finish by asking the agency to act. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “After that” help signal the relationship between points. However, several ideas are crowded into long, poorly punctuated sentences, particularly the account beginning “when last saturday” and the explanation of your health problems. This makes the sequence of events harder to follow. Some references are also unclear, such as “they” after mentioning “my neighbour Mr. Patel.” Use separate paragraphs for the complaint, its effects, and your requested action, and make the timeline and pronouns explicit. This would make the overall progression clearer and reduce the mechanical feel of the linking.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main complaint, including “late night,” “lower voice,” “mental health,” and “take some action.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “writting,” “camplain,” “accomodation,” and “vorbel worning” obscure otherwise straightforward ideas. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “play late night game on loud voice” and “same voice.” Aim for accurate, conventional collocations for noise complaints, and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help you describe the disturbance and its impact without changing the relevant details you have included.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “I wonder if you could take some action as soon as possible,” as well as a sentence explaining that you closed the doors but could still hear the noise. However, many sentences contain errors in tense, clause structure, articles, and punctuation, which sometimes make the timeline or meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “I am caming from my job” and “my neighbour is rented a flat” do not form accurate verb patterns, while “when last saturday I am…” combines clauses unclearly. Practise forming past-tense accounts and complete sentences, and use full stops to separate ideas. More accurate control of these patterns would make your message easier to understand.
