Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify the central problem: the neighbour plays video games loudly late at night, and this affects your sleep. However, the task is addressed only partially. You do not explain when the problem began, and the effect on you is only briefly stated; the request for the agency to act is vague (“giving your precious time in solving this matter”) rather than specifying a practical step. The response also contains 83 words, below the required minimum of 150, so there is not enough development to cover the three points fully. To improve, state when the noise started, explain its impact on your rest and work, and clearly ask the agency to contact the neighbour or enforce quiet hours.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The letter has a recognisable opening, a description of the issue, and a closing, so the reader can follow its general purpose. However, almost all the information is compressed into one paragraph and several ideas run together, such as the noise, its effect on sleep, and the request for help. The opening “Good day!” also interrupts the formal flow after the required salutation. Organise the letter into short paragraphs: introduce the complaint, explain when it began and its effects, then make a specific request before closing. Use clear links between these points so the agency can easily identify the problem and the action you expect.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic issue, including “very loud video games,” “late at night,” and “sleeping hour.” The range is limited, however, and some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes parts of the letter less clear or less suitable for a formal complaint. For example, “our neighbouring works” does not clearly identify the neighbour, while “precious time” is an awkward choice in this context. There are also spelling and spacing errors, including “stregnth” and “ourconcerns.” Build a more precise range for describing noise and its consequences, and proofread spelling and word combinations before sending the letter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response communicates its main message through a few simple sentence patterns, but the range is limited and errors occur in the longer sentence. In “it really affect our sleeping hour,” the verb does not agree with the singular subject “it”; the sentence also shifts awkwardly from “our” to “us” in “for us to have enough stregnth.” The phrase “our neighbouring works who stays” contains an unclear noun phrase and incorrect agreement, making the intended meaning difficult to follow. Punctuation in “Good day!” is also not well integrated with the formal letter opening. Use shorter, controlled sentences and check subject–verb agreement and pronoun consistency.
