Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main situation and explain that the noise began “a couple of week ago,” that it disrupts your studies before exams, and that you want the agency to intervene. These points are relevant, but the request is brief and does not specify practical action, such as contacting the neighbour or asking them to reduce the volume at night. The opening also says “Dear Sir,” rather than using the required “Dear Sir or Madam,” and the closing “Your patel” is not an appropriate sign-off. The response is 15 words below the required minimum, which limits the development of the problem and your requested solution. Add detail about when the gaming happens and how the agency should address it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a generally understandable sequence: you introduce the complaint, describe its cause, explain its effect on your studies, and make a request. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and transitions such as “Firstly” and “In addition” signal movement between points. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and “Firstly” promises a sequence that is not clearly completed. Some connections are awkward: “So” and “therefore” repeat the same cause-and-effect link, while “our apartment getting disturb” makes the relationship between the noise and its impact unclear. Use fewer, more natural linking expressions and connect the details directly—for example, explain that late-night gaming prevents you from concentrating and sleeping. A conventional closing would also make the letter feel more complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the basic complaint, with relevant terms such as “video games,” “high volume,” “exam,” and “study.” However, the range is limited, and several noticeable spelling or word-choice problems make the letter less clear or natural. “Noice” should be “noise,” “Concequently” should be “Consequently,” and “whlole” should be “whole.” Phrases such as “inform you regarding noice issue” and “take some steps against my neighbour” are also awkward for a formal complaint. Choose more precise collocations, such as “report a noise disturbance” and “take action to resolve the issue.” This would make your meaning clearer and give the letter a more appropriate formal tone.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a sentence linking your upcoming exams to the effect of the noise. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the message difficult to follow. For example, “A couple of week ago” needs a plural noun, and “our apartment getting disturb” needs a correctly formed verb phrase, such as “our apartment is being disturbed.” In “my neighbour and their friends have brought,” the tense and pronoun reference are not well controlled. The long sentence beginning “So, my exam is coming next month” also joins several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise accurate past and present forms, and divide long explanations into shorter sentences while retaining some complex structures.
