Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the central issue—late-night gaming noise—and explain that it distracts you while working from home and affects your productivity. You also make a relevant request for a warning or a move to another flat. However, the task is only partly developed: the start of the problem is unclear. Saying you rented the flat on 8 November does not explain when the neighbour’s noise began, and you give no specific time or indication of how often it happens. The effect on your work is mentioned but could be supported with a concrete example, such as missed meetings or difficulty sleeping. Clarify these details and state your preferred solution more directly to address every part fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a recognisable sequence: you introduce the complaint, describe its effect on your work, request action, and close politely. Connectors such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “In addition” help signal the progression, and the separate paragraphs make the main stages easy to locate. Some linking is mechanical, however, and the first paragraph combines the tenancy detail and the complaint without clearly explaining their relationship. The request sentence also joins two alternatives in a confusing way: “give them a strict warning or can you shift me.” Use clearer paragraphing and transitions, and make the requested action a direct, well-formed sentence. This would make the overall progression smoother and references easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “late night loud noises,” “meetings,” “distract,” and “productivity.” The main message remains understandable, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate. For example, “my neighbourhood” refers to an area rather than the person next door; “this voice” is not a natural way to describe gaming noise; and “I feel so disrespectful” does not express the intended impact. “Effect on my productivity” also needs a more natural phrasing. Choose precise terms such as “neighbour,” “noise,” and “disrupts my productivity,” and vary the language used to describe the problem.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer structures, including “as I am doing a work from home” and the sentence beginning “Moreover,” but control is uneven, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the letter awkward to read. Examples include “I rent you flat,” “who living just beside my flat,” and “I hardly request you can you please,” which show problems with articles, verb forms, and sentence construction. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in the lowercase “i” and the run-on request. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “which,” or “so.” For example: “The noise distracts me during online meetings, so I cannot concentrate on my work.”
