Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The letter identifies a complaint about noise and explains that it affects your studying, sleep, and health, so the central issue is relevant. However, it does not fully address the task: the opening instead describes the “condition of the flat” and unspecified problems, and the start of the noise problem is not clearly stated. “I was came 3 weaks ago” gives a move-in time, not when the neighbour began gaming loudly. Most importantly, you do not clearly ask the agency to take a specific action, such as contacting the neighbour or enforcing quiet hours. The final sentence is unfinished, leaving your request and closing incomplete. State when the noise began and make a direct, practical request to the agency.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the letter: you introduce a complaint, describe its effects, and then make a request. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “Thirdly” help signal separate effects. However, the progression is weakened by repeated points about being unable to study and sleep, and some connections are unclear—for example, “There are several issues facing him” does not clearly refer to your own situation. The paragraphs also do not clearly separate the background, impact, and requested action. The final sentence stops abruptly, so the letter has no complete ending. Use one focused paragraph for each task point and connect each idea without repeating it.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a small set of relevant words, including “noise,” “concentrate,” “sleep,” and “upset,” which makes the general complaint recognisable. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and several inaccurate choices or spellings make the message harder to understand: “born many issues,” “noise disturb me sleep,” “exausted,” and “compromize.” Some phrases also do not fit the intended meaning, such as “condition of the flat” when the complaint concerns a neighbour. Build a more precise range for describing the problem and its effects, and check spelling and natural word combinations. For example, describe the noise as “loud gaming late at night” and say it “disrupts my sleep.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to communicate through both short statements and longer sentences, and the reader can identify the main complaint. However, sentence structures are very limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “I was came 3 weaks ago,” “the noise make difficult,” and “I am cannot properaly focus.” Several clauses are joined in ways that make the meaning difficult to follow, as in “it made feel upset and worried, I am cannot properaly focus.” Punctuation is also inconsistent, with commas separating complete thoughts and a lowercase “while” beginning a sentence. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clear clauses using “because” or “which.”
