Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three required points and maintains a clear, appropriately formal request to the agency. You explain that the issue began “approximately two weeks ago,” describe the late-night gaming and its effect on your sleep and work, and ask the agency to contact the neighbour or consider sound insulation. These details make the complaint relevant and purposeful. The impact on you is particularly clear, while the request for insulation is less fully explained: clarify whether you mean insulation in your flat and why this would be an appropriate alternative. A more complete closing and a brief expression of appreciation would also make the letter feel more fully finished.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it moves from the start and nature of the problem, to its effects, and then to the action requested. The paragraph breaks help the reader follow these stages, and linking phrases such as “as a result” and “alternatively” show the relationship between ideas. To make the progression more polished, use full stops to separate the many details currently joined in long strings, and add a clear opening and closing. The final phrase, “I look forward to hearing from your earliest convenience,” does not clearly connect the expected reply with a time frame. More precise linking and reference would provide the stronger cohesion expected at the next level.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a complaint, including “extremely loud volume,” “sound effects,” “concentrate at work,” and “building rules regarding noise.” These phrases communicate the situation and its consequences clearly. There are, however, several spelling errors, including “approimately,” “nigth,” “ussaully,” and “concenrate,” which reduce accuracy. Some expressions are also imprecise or awkward, such as “there was response” and “brtter sound insulation flat.” Choose more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe the neighbour as “playing games at a high volume” and say you received “no response.” This would make the vocabulary more precise and controlled.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The letter attempts both simple and more developed sentence forms, including the cause-and-effect construction “I have been unable to get enough sleep as a result I feel tired” and the conditional “if the problem continues.” The intended meaning is generally understandable, but sentence boundaries and punctuation are not controlled consistently: the opening runs several clauses together, and “as a result” needs clearer separation. There are also grammatical problems in phrases such as “I work early in the there morning” and “I look forward to hearing from your earliest convenience.” Use complete sentences, check clause structure, and practise standard patterns such as “I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.” Greater accuracy across these structures would strengthen the letter.
