Dear Sir,

I hope you are doing fine over here am not really doing well, I am one of your tenants who lives in room 6 just opposite the newly renovated building my neighbor has been playing loud Video games over the past one week upto late night. the sounds coming from the Video games has completely affected our sleep and my youngest daughter could not have enough sleep.

let me bring to your attention that my two sons who are studying for their end year exam could hardly concrete on their studies since the noise is unbearable. Our sleeping partens has been completely disrupted.

I have tried to talk to him reduce the volume but all has been in vain i would like you to talk to him politely on the effects of loud sounds to neighbors and if possible he should look for an alternative sound proof system so that his actions should not disturb others.

i will appreciate to hear apositve feedback from you.

best wishes,

your tenant.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you say the noise began “over the past one week,” explain its effects on your sleep and your children’s sleep and studies, and ask the agency to speak to the neighbour and suggest soundproofing. The complaint is relevant and the requested action is clear. The effects are more fully explained than the start of the problem, which is only briefly dated, and the proposed solution could be more specific—for example, asking the agency to enforce quiet hours or contact the neighbour formally. The letter also needs a more consistently formal tone: “Dear Sir” does not follow the supplied opening, and “I hope you are doing fine” is less suitable for a formal complaint. These limitations keep some parts less fully developed, although the purpose is clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The message has a recognisable progression from introducing yourself and the problem, to describing its impact, and then requesting action. Paragraph breaks help separate the effects from your request, and phrases such as “let me bring to your attention” signal a shift in focus. However, the opening combines several ideas in one long, loosely connected sentence, making the sequence harder to follow. Some references are also unclear: “his actions” and “our sleeping partens” require the reader to infer the intended meaning. The closing is present, but the sign-off and request could be more clearly separated. Use shorter sentences for the background, impact, and requested action, and connect them with precise transitions to make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for a complaint, including “loud,” “unbearable,” “disrupted,” and “alternative,” so the reader can understand the main issue and its consequences. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “bring to your attention.” However, several inaccurate or misspelled expressions reduce precision, including “concrete on their studies,” “sleeping partens,” “upto,” and “apositve.” “Sound proof system” is also not the most natural way to describe a solution. These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “concentrate on their studies,” “sleeping patterns,” and “soundproofing.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the main message is generally recoverable. However, control of sentence boundaries and clause structure is inconsistent. The opening runs several clauses together (“I hope you are doing fine … I am one of your tenants”), while the sentence beginning “let me bring to your attention” also joins ideas without clear punctuation. There are problems with articles, agreement, and verb patterns, as in “the sounds … has” and “talk to him reduce the volume.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also uneven. These errors can make some sentences difficult to process, which limits accuracy. Practise separating complete ideas into sentences, then check subject–verb agreement and use a clear construction such as “I asked him to reduce the volume.”
