Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three required points: you say the noise began “from last 10 days,” explain that it disrupts your studies and sleep and gives you a headache, and ask the agency to speak to and warn the neighbour. These details make the purpose clear, although the requested action is brief and could be more specific—for example, ask the agency to remind the neighbour of quiet hours and follow up if the noise continues. The effects are relevant but could also be developed with a concrete example of how late the gaming continues. The response is 139 words, so it is 11 words below the required minimum of 150; use the extra space to develop these points rather than repeat information.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter follows a generally sensible order: it introduces the complaint, explains when it began and its effects, then makes a request. This overall progression helps the reader understand your purpose. However, the information is presented in one continuous body paragraph, so separating the background and effects from the requested action would make the letter easier to scan. Some linking is also mechanical: “But due to this loud” and “so” connect ideas, but the latter begins a sentence with a lower-case letter and the transitions could be more precise. Use clear paragraph breaks and links such as “As a result” to show cause and effect. The closing is present, though the sign-off should be formatted consistently with the formal opening.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the complaint, including “loud video games,” “concentrate,” “exams,” and “sleep.” The main message remains understandable, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “make a loud noise of video games” is less natural than “play video games loudly,” while “this loud” does not clearly name the noise. There are also spelling errors such as “usaually,” and “effects” is used where the verb “affects” is needed. Aim for precise phrases such as “disturbs my sleep” and “causes a headache,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the reader can generally follow the complaint. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. For instance, “my neighbour who rent” should be “my neighbour who rents,” and “he started to make” would be more natural as “he started playing.” In “I usaually do a studies,” the article and noun form are incorrect; write “I usually study.” The sentence beginning “so” needs a capital letter, and the comma before “he plays” creates a run-on structure. Use a few carefully controlled complex sentences, and check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation.
