Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the central issue—your neighbour plays loud video games—and explain that it disrupts your online classes and causes stress. You also ask the agency to respond and speak to the neighbour, so the requested action is present. However, the task is only partly addressed: “yesterday” does not clearly explain when the problem began, and the letter does not explicitly say that the gaming happens late at night. The effects are relevant but repeated rather than developed with a clear example, and the requested action could be more specific, such as asking the agency to remind the neighbour of quiet hours. Clarifying these points would make the purpose and request more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter follows a recognisable order: it introduces the complaint, describes its effect on your classes, and then asks the agency to act. This gives the reader a basic sense of the message. However, most of the content is packed into one long paragraph, and several ideas run together, particularly the explanation of how the noise affects your concentration and hearing. Linking words such as “because,” “then,” and “and” are used repeatedly, sometimes making the relationships between points unclear. Separate the complaint, its effects, and your requested action into paragraphs, and use clearer transitions to show how each point connects. This would create a more consistent progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the basic complaint, including “loud video,” “online classes,” “stress,” and “address this issue.” However, the range is limited and some phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, which can make the reader pause. For example, “issues made of my neighbor” does not clearly express that the neighbour is causing a disturbance, while “visit my neighbor flatmate” is confusing. “I am fully respected for what action you can make” also does not convey your intended appreciation naturally. Choose precise collocations for noise complaints and agency requests, and avoid repeating “matter” and “class.” This would make the letter clearer and more appropriate in tone.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to combine several ideas in longer sentences, but the structures are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the message difficult to follow. For instance, “it disrupt my mind” and “it give me more stress” have subject–verb agreement problems, while “I can't hear my teacher on what he want to explain” has an unclear clause structure and an incorrect verb form. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical construction after “inform you.” Most sentences rely on simple clauses joined by “and” or “because,” so the range is limited. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build shorter, complete sentences before attempting longer ones; use punctuation to separate the effects and request.
